I HATE Rusty Rotors!!
Yuck!
Btw, it's a 2006 C230SS.
Porsche also "fine tunes" the braking systems, resulting from extensive testing. For example, they found that a turbo charged vehicle requires red calipers to brake properly.
On that same line, they found that ceramic brakes require yellow calipers.

It's a very fun car, but when it comes down to it, it's just a 10 year old American car.
The only reason for any interest is it shares the same engine/drivetrain as the 94-96 Chevy Impalas, so mods are cheap and plentiful.
And yes, we bought the car new.
Btw Cdiken, what does that have to do with my post about the rusty rotors on our C230? :p
I'd like to get a cheap Roadmaster and use it for a Roast Master. Disconnect and plug the right-rear brake line, and just stand and burn the rear wheels with the moster torque of the LT1 through an open differential.

Btw, linelock only goes for about $100.
As for the rotors on the C230, the "petina" is definitely rust and CANNOT be painted. The paint will interfere with the heat transfer of the rotors to begin with.
Secondly, I was merely surprised that MB uses rotors that haven't been treated (zinc wash?) to prevent this rusting. The rotors on my Jeep or Buick don't rust at all and the MB kind of ticked me off in that aspect.
Oh well...

I would "upgrade" the rotors to a different brand if I could to get rid of the rust issue, but I'm also concerned about aftermarket cross drilled rotors.
The OEM rotors have their holes cast into the rotor, while the aftermarket idiots drill them with a freakin drill after they are made.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to live with this gripe. Can't really complain since everything else on the car is 100%.

You think that's where he got it from?

I was under the impression that painted calipers are strictly a cosmetic modification.
Believe me, the color of the paint has nothing to do with their performance, Icky Ricky! LOL Now don't you worry your pretty little head or lose any sleep over this, OK? hahahahahaha.

I'm honestly a bit perplexed that you have enough energy to "hate" rusted rotors. Too much time on your hands. All respect to you for buying a Mercedes, but this goes way beyond concern.

but enjoy YOUR rusty rotors pal You wash, you dry. Rotors are rusted. How long does it take before you drive your car? If it is THAT important. Put it in forward, drive, then park. Feel better?
