Didnt Drive Car since Mid-December...

and of course the more I tried to prevent problems, the more that came up!

So before I packed my car away in my garage for a month I first took it to the car wash and brought it right on home...put plywood under the tires and cloth into the tailpipes (TOWGT'S recmd). etc etc..

Started up car yesterday, put into drive and the car jumped into a take off sort of feeling...which is fine, but weird.

The big issue was my front drivers side tire when I would brake. When I would brake I would hear a knocking noise similair to the sound of a flat tire, which could use be felt in the brake pedal. After some 5 minutes of driving the problem has gone away or is un-noticeable. Took a quick look at the tire and saw nothing...

I have a feeling as to what has happened, but I'd like some of your input first. Remember the car was just washed, and tempetures are usually below freezing here......and as a side note,,do you think it is worth going to the service advisor?

I guess you might had a flat-spot on your tire(s). A flat spot is common on softer-compound tires after the car is parked for a long while. If the flat spot is not serious, just drive the car on the freeway for a few miles, and the flat spot will fade away.

With best regards,

With best regards,
thought this at first, but if it were a flat spot wouldn't it make the knocking noise while also driving, not only braking?

I'll guess you put your car away wet without a short drive to dry the pads and rotors. The pads rusted to the rotors creating a rough spot that took a few minutes to wear off.

I think you hit the nail on the head! Thats exactly that conclusion I came too, but good to hear it from someone else.

I was hoping for tires with flat spots so I can have reason to go out and buy some 18's. darnn

Your tires are probably flat spotted too. My internet diagnosis is you need new skins, something sticky and expensive

Probably will need new wheels to keep those new tires round too :v

usually would be right except for this winter. today has probably been the coldest day we've had so far this winter. temperatures have been unusually warm. if your under warranty, couldn't hurt to get it looked at.
