Please help! I'm using a casette adaptor to play my iPod on my 2002 C240 and even with the door closed, it makes a beeping noise! Then it will turn the system off until I pop out the casette adaptor! HELP!

I got you covered

Your door is not fully closed. try taking the wire of the cassette adapter and pushing it to a corner of the door closing. That will allow the door to close fully. If it still does it, you likely need an adapter with a thinner wiring to the mini phono plug.

OR, just git rid of the stock radio and put in a stereo

Just which compatible head unit would you have in mind for that swap? Remember that it has to work with the fiber-optic bus.....

Change it all

Stereo as in a full stereo. Amp, speakers etc. Yes, we are all aware that their is a fiber optic line.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. Just how much would our original poster have to budget for this solution? And what other problems might he introduce?

Well the radio signal broadcaster has TERRIBLE quality. I've heard it before and couldn't wait to get rid of it.
I also usualy a cassette adapter and i've experienced the beeping. What I do is put it about 3mm below the top left of the door and push the door to make sure it's closed well. Been doing that for about a year now and barily ever get any beeping. If it does happen I just push the door a bit and it's fine.
