I Need Some Help Please from People that Have Put in HID Fogs

I just got a set of HID foglights (from the GB on the other forum)... They said that it was pretty easy and straight plug and play. That's essentially why I bought it b/c I thought I could do it myself.

I got the package today (pics of the contents are below) and it was pretty overwhelming. Before I do the install, I just want to ask a few questions. Where do you put the ballast/igniter and everything? Can it fit in the bottom of the bumper by the wheelwell? Do I have to do something with it in the engine compartment?

Do I need to change the fuse in the car's fusebox?

Will I get a bulb out error (this was stupid on my part for not asking prior to purchasing it)?

Thanks!

I could've sworn that that thread over there already answered most of those questions. You trust them enough to buy it but yet not enough to believe them when it comes to the technical side of things? :p

I was going to do the samething in the near future too. There's a lot of hardware to be mounted in the engine bay or hide all of it somewhere safe from all the water and maybe salt from snow and stuff.

I'd check the other thread where other folks have already done the install.

har har, I did a search over there and I think I know what that thread you're talking about is... It doesn't have where to put the igniter and ballast and crap.

You have to remove those pins under the wheelwell. The left side took me 1 hour to do. The right side took me 15mins. Just be patient. Put everything together 1st then do the install. I was overwhelmed myself when i saw the kit but after the install it wasnt so bad ! Get ready for some cuts and scraps unless you remove the bumper

Your kit is a little different than mine. I had Metal like zip tie that i used to fasten the Ballast/igniter. I think i mounted that piece somewhere near the side of the Fog lights. I didnt get to to see what i tied it to because i didnt remove the bumper. Ive had it on for sometime now and no problem.

Where in socal do you live? Maybe i can help you. Then we can get a nice photoshoot after

Edit ** I just looked at your kit and i actually used the same mounting bracket you have. **

I live in the South Bay but am either in DTLA or Century City during the week... We should totally have a photoshoot! That would be tight! '05 White/Black 19's BIX/HID's... Damn! that'll look great!

So you just put the ballast on the mounting bracket and used the zip ties? That sounds good.

Thanks!
