I bought myself an eclipse when I was 17. At 18 realized I made a huge mistake and bought myself a c230 coupe cash and sold my eclipse haha. Bought the eclipse cash too haha. Now I got a beauty c230 that just needs my aftermarket seats installed and rims lol

I'll be very interested to see how you go with the seats. Not something I'll do, but thats just me. But by looking at my seats compared to others, I think they are slightly better in as mines got the factory sports upgrades.

(still not as good as the CLK seats though)

I really wanted to get those seats but they weren't being sold on eBay or anywhere and you know dealer prices ( :[ ) lol

They are not overly great. But they are good. If you can get the CLK ones for the same price or less, CLK would be more comfortable.

Question; do the CLK come with man-made leather or animal leather?

Full leather in SA. The only problem with the CLK seats is they take up more space. Fine in the CLK with it's longer chassis.

Looking at those seats, I gotta say they would look out of place in a w203 sedan. The front and rear wouldn't match. Lovely seats though.

Funnily enough, I still don't like the CLK interior as much as the facelift W203s with the 3 spoke steering wheel. Yes I'd rather drive a CLK if its the same year as the w203, it probably is a better car... but I think the W203 face-lifted interior is pretty well composed. Also, the first gen w204 interior is pretty not nice either. I was interested in buying one but I just couldn't get over the interior. But it was the classic model, maybe the Avantgarde & Elegance is more ascetically pleasing.

w203 (although I dont like cloth seats). Very nicely done.

w204 - Sorry, it just doesnt do it for me. The above is much nicer.

CLK - Although I do like the woodgrain. The round vents look out of place and the steering wheel looks dated.

The W204 interior is horrible up until the 2012 with the new dash which is slightly chintzy but a huge improvement. The CLK is the most luxurious & planted thing they ever did with the W203 platform. Heavily reworked.

But it's horses for courses. The CLK Coupe is a wonderful vehicle. I still think the 203 sedan is a classic & has aged very well.

The MY12 Interior of the W204 is very nice kinded. A bit 'square' for my linking yet I agree with you, much much better than the w204 2007-2011. I'm glad Mercedes woke up. Not the biggest fan of the new E-Class interior also (exception being the coupe), but I'd still drive one. I love the E-Class design.

I don't doubt it a fantastic performer. But they should have made it a bit more different that the w203 in design. I think the previous gen CLK's (the first) will become classics one day. Such a powerful design with elegance thrown in. I also like the grill and hood ornament.

Sorry for taking this off topic.

the A 209 looks better with light upholstery & darker wood. Black ash is my favourite. Don't have a pic of black ash. It's in the brochure pics.

I don't like the old CLK the proportions were wrong - I love this.

Then of course many in Germany fit the C55 grill. The C55 borrowed the CLK's wider nose. I like it with C55 grill & hoodstar - No pic.

Different stokes for different folks :-). I really like the old shape. But I would rather drive the newer one of course.

Colour does make a huge difference interior wise. The pics you posted do like much nicer than black on black.

I agree; I like the chunkiness of the old gen - it looks solid. While the newer CLK is a bit too feminine for my tastes.

Judging by the pics, the CLK seats would look like an overstuffed barcolounger in the C class, and I'm guessing a quite bit heavier, too.

You Australians. Says the driver of the most feminine C Class. Tommy likes the plastic sprayed silver look. He yearns for another Honda

I wouldn't say it's feminine. The only feminine MBs are the A & B classes IMO.

The mounting rails are each 18" long. The mounting holes center to center from front to back are 15 1/2 " and 16 1/2" side to side

I prefer the grill it comes with, that just doesn't look right.

Conclusion finally has been made to this thread, the seats will fit, but because they are about 22 inches wide. They will be a very tight fit. So my conclusion is a no for me

The extra weight alone is not worth it.
