W203 Tein Sus

I am lookin to buy a set of the Tein Basic coilovers, here is what I found out about the can someone with this set-up please confirm?

I got these info from the tein website

C230 K will only be lowerd at 1.5 front and 1.3 back?

Where the C320 is 2.5 front and 2.3 rear?

Is this true?

Thanks

I think these numbers are referring to lowered suspension on C230's (04.5+) and luxury suspension on C320's. It will be different if you have a C320 sport or 01-04 C230. I'm not sure how low you're trying to go, but mine are only about halfway down and my tires are about even with the wheel wells (no tuck). I imagine if I were to drop it all the way, the rears would tuck about half my tire and the front would be tucking the tread.

That ride height is very possible. If I were you, I'd try to buy from whoever is going to install them (if possible) to get a better "installed price". I got mine done for $1k installed. The ride is "comfortably stiff." Very responsive, but not what I'd describe as "harsh" at all.

Eddie, the $810 on ebay is a good price, considering that they are $890 list on the TEIN website.

Only thing is, if you're not going to be installing these yourself, you'd have to expect at minimum, a $100 install (if not more). My suggestion is to go with a company that can get the Basic's for you and quote you a price (including install)...unless of course you do the install yourself.

is SOLD
it may be $810, but don't forget about shipping....otherwise, it still a great coilover for the price.

oh by the way, i also love the ride, so i say get'em.

I think CarLab is selling them for $800.00 and I think they are located in California.

If you don't want the mods to ban you, ya might wanna edit that post because that company is not a sponsor here. Better safe than sorry.

A box on 4 wheels
They can be lowered alot more by adjusting the coilovers. They are "adjustable coilovers" and I believe there maximum drop is 3.5"

He got tein ss coilover installed and he said it is at the LOWEST setting in the rear. Is tein basic's lowest setting is lower than SS? Or is his setting isnt at the lowest setting?

That looks pretty low to me...probably the lowest setting in back. Add a couple hundred pounds of ICE in the trunk and that thing would be slammed. I'm surprised to see that the fronts can still go lower than that!

Yep, and I'm just trying to help him out. I actually get all of my mods done at the shop he mentioned, but don't want to see him get banned over mentioning a non-sponsor's name. I've seen it done before!

Or probably for the rear suspension, he uses the front coils. For the front suspension, he uses the rear coils. :p

O yea, his rear tires are not even dipped into the fender

Johnny has 19's. Believe it or not, it makes a difference from the 19's (w/30 series tires) and 17's (w/40 series tires). The rear tires are tucking into the fender and the fronts are sitting right below the fender.

Any lower than that and it will probably be counter productive driving on the street.

It would help if we knew what area you're in. Update your profile to indicate the information (as well as the model of your car). That way, we'll be able to give you some options.

That's crazy! I feel like I just finished the R&D a few months ago, but I just realized that it's been a while now, since I finished.

Here are some better pictures.
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/130461-pictures-lowered-exhaust-c-4x4-exhaust-350z.html

Yes, the fronts can go lower, the rear is at the lowest settings. I just got new tires and upgraded to 275 in the rear.

Yes, you need spacers if you get Teins CO if you have my set up. 19 by 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears with 38 mm offset all around. I'm using 12.1 mm spacers fronts and 7.1 mm spacers rear. Custom made by Design Deluxe, no vibration.

Yes, I'm also using H&R 5 mm front spacers for the 17 inch C32 AMG wheels.

The Tein's CO are much thicker than the stock suspension. So be prepared to make some adjustment or you'll be rubbing against the shocks. Good Luck.

I got 19x8.5 +30mm and 19x9.5 +35mm, I hope I don't need the spacers.

If I do how much are they?

Thanks

rubbing on the inside or outside of the wheel well? If it's rubbing on the outside, have the fenders rolled/trimmed.

It's rubbing on the outside, I just had my fenders rolled but not as low as I wanted.

Maybe I need to have it trimmed/shaved?

Thanks
