Not sure on what replicas to get

So just for starters before I get flamed, i know im gonna get more responses here than I would in my own cars respective forum, not to mention more people here would know about this more.

so for a long time ive been in the market for some rims, and today I took my car in for its service A. i was talking to my service advisor, and had brought up how I was looking for rims. Showed me a few brochures, lorinser, brabus, lowenhart, and I was saying how there great rims but kinda outta my budget. He then directed me to www.monetwheels.com, checked it out, pretty good selection. after SEARCHING (lol), seems like there one of the more reputable replica wheel companies out there.

the problem was that he had quoted me around 5000 roughly for the reps, NOT the authentic brabus rims I was interested in. seemed kinda ridiculous, so I figured why not do some shopping, but I've been having a hard time finding a place online that has prices and online shopping for monets.

i also stumbled across Moven's, and was curious as to what company I should go for. I know I'm getting replicas, but I do know that I dont want something that the finish is gonna start peeling, bends easily, etc.

Looking to spend 2500 MAX with tires. Any input is greatley appreciated, so if anyone knows where to get a good deal on either brand, thanks in advance.

oh and btw, i was looking at the monet impressionism, 19"s in chrome. i was thinking about the realism model, but they dont make em in 19"s

are you kidding me? $5k for the monet's? when I was looking for rims, I was actually looking into the monet's as well. I found them for $2k (19 black though). BUT, they required 25mm spacers which totally totally didn't sound good to me. car places told me that they'd fit, but they wouldn't recommend them. the monet's should be really cheap if you look in the right places (try www.spyeng.com too, I think they sell the monet's, cappa has their wheels in an 18)

Correct I do have there rims and I do regret getting it from spyeng. Let this go out to all members of this forum on behalf of my experience. There customer service may seem great when your interested in buying something from them. It's a whole different story when the product has been bought. One of my rims started pealing, not alot about a quarter in length, which shows me there paint quality for there rims are poor. I didn't bring this to there attention since it's small. If you have any large problems, such as, if the rim was damaged during shipping, or if they send you the wrong lug nuts they won't admit to it. I got there rims installed at there shop and they used the wrong lug nuts for my car. Stripped the front 2 wheel threadings and damaged my hub center. Im currently in a lawsuit against them and would not recommend them to anyone. If they do make a mistake, they will not admit to it. Even with solid proof in hand, these guys are just plain asses.

No need to bash, I would just suggest you go with a different wheel company with their own designs vs. replica. Nothing wrong with a more moderate budget.

Take a look at this link to get some ideas

yeah, i figured 5gs for replicas was ridiculous.

ive been calling around, and this place im assuming in pasadena (626 area code) called Nitrous Garage, quoted me about 2300 staggered with tires. they told me i would need spacers as it was a +38mm offset. I was looking to get +35mm offset just to save that cash I would spend on spacers to drop the car.

i was referred to thewheelsupply.com, by i think it was moven, and there site is down. and considering cappa's experience, i dont think i would go to spyeng.com either.

any other suggestions?

oh and D2, nice wheels but not exactly what I'm looking for. If you wanna sell me a good package with rims and tires on the mono IV replica's, let me know.

There area a LOT a lot of replicas of that monoblock VI, aka monet impressionsm on EBAY. that are well within your 2500 budget...you could get'em with money left over to lower.

Stick with D2 man, he's got good service, and great after sales service too..

I should know.. I haven't bought anything from him and he knows I probably won't anytime soon, yet he's still a great guy. D2 is someone that won't let you down. He's got his stuff down.

+1 for D2.

ive seen the myriad of different replicas of the mono's goin for like 700 bucks but the chance of the finish peeling/bending is more likely than if i were to get the monets/movens which have a decent reputation

benzondubz-
i was actually looking for the wheel in chrome, and the offset on that particular set was +38mm when the car has a +35mm offset. not looking to spend more money on spacers.

and lastly, Ricky-
D2 seems like a great place to get rims but they dont have exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm looking at a few sets on ebay and I seem to get the general idea. I think i can get away with 1800 shipped with tires for the rims. now just need to wait to get paid...

They are probably quiality build as monet/movens since they are in same price range. As FrankW will tell ya, a lot of those a made in the same factory and just badge with different makers name on it. But hey, just letting you know the options are plentiful.
