I saw a 2003 Coupe at Jack Ingram Motors in Montgomery and it did NOT have projector beams. The only exterior change I noticed was that it did seem to have slighly restyled rear lower body work.

Buellwinkle, you're such a skeptic.

The Xenon lights are listed as an option (code 172) for the '03 coupes. Otherwise the standard lights are thesame as '02.

We do not have any yet w/ xenons but supposedly they ere available. Other than that, the 1.8 engine and the option of 2 wood trim packages (Charcoal Cinnamora / W52 and Brown poplar W68) are the only changes I have been able to find.
We have '03 coupes in stock.
There are no changes to the interior or exterior that I can see.
Pewter is an available color and we have a pewter car here. It is sold and in the detail shop. I will try to take some pics today before it leaves as well as pics of the new engine.

P.S. The rear bumper looks the same to me.

It must have been a reflection or something, but I thought I saw some different styling on the right side of the rear bumper, like some sort of double curve.(I know that makes no sense)

Hi Buellwinkle,

My understanding from talking to the techs before is that the xenon lights cannot be retrofitted due to differnet wiring harnesses, relays etc.

I just spoke to parts, they confirmed, wiring harness and control units are different, not an easy or cheap swap.

No availability from parts yet for lenses and bulbs

Of course it can be retrofitted. Just need to get all the relays, wiring, etc. Someone on this board has to do it!

I stand corrected!

Of course it can be done. As always It is just a matter of time, money and motivation.

about 10 years ago I helped a friend do an engine swap: put a fuel injected motor from a Civic SI into a "regular" civic. the swap included the entire wiring harness, computer, fuel lines from the gas tank forward. We had to completely gut the interior on both cars to get the fuel lines. The dash came out........etc, etc.
2 months later he had about 20 horsepower and a bucket full of "spare' parts.

Yes, it can be done. Let's buy a new Benz and completely dissasemble it to swap the wiring harness so we can have those "blingin" lights. GO for it!
