Choice of lights..

I have a 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport, BLK on BLK and I have the crappy default stock halogen lights.

I want an HID look, so I have two lights to pick. All I want to change is the Low Beam Headlamp

The two choices I have are: Philips DiamondVision or the UltraBlue light on autolamps-online.com.

I want a look that is blue, but if it is TOO blue, I don't think it will look good with the black....

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Just because the car is black and the headlights are blue really shouldn't make any difference- we're not in art class trying to stay in the right color family. Some info. to keep in mind- the more 'blue' the tint is on the headlights the LOWER your visibility will actually be. Also, the 'blue' ones look extreemly cheap, and a waste of however much you get suckered into paying for them. I have sylvania silver stars for my stock headlights, and are slightly brighter than stock...somewhat noticeable especially on the highway and dark roads yet I dont have the embarassment of having glowing smurf's in my headlights.
So stay away please from the 'xenon' blue or 'HID style' lights...do a little search and threads will come up. Hope that helps and welcome to the board! I used to live in AZ myself.
Regards,
Geoff

Since when was blue cheap? Many members here have 6K-8k HID's. I was just browsing through the SLK forum and noticed many of them had that tint of color. If SLK's are cheap...what would you say about C230's, since you do own one.

I have them and they are AWESOME!!!

I have the Super Xenon 6000K. I can not tell the difference driving down the road from these to the real BIX, seriously. The beauty is they only cost $65. I absolutely love them. I never order them on my new car and I hit myself for not doing it. Now at least I have something that appears just like them, they are filled with 100% Xenon gas, and they have a life time warranty.

They are pure white with a tiny hint of blue just like the BIX and ALL the other high end cars that have them.

I have a 2006 C230 SS and I would NOT just put or leave anything in or on my car without it looking and providing the necessary job it must perform.

Cost $65.00 and WELL worth the cash. Everybody thinks they are BIX.

Lol firs of bix means that there is a little flap that changes the direction of the HID light from low-beam to high-beam. And if people think they are bix they obviously have no idea what they're talking about .

Looks not the function

When I said "everybody thinks they are BIX" it was extremely obvious that I was refering to the LOOK from driving down the highway NOT up close. If you look up close EVERYBODY would know they are NOT BIX.

Geesh!

Thing is, I don't think "non-enthusiasts" would notice, but I can tell right away if a C Class coming towards me has BI-X or not.

From head on, BI-X looks like the headlight beams actually cover a smaller area than the parking lights. Best way to describe it, it looks like this:

o0 0o

Regular halogen lights or even Halogen assemblies w/Xenon bulbs, look more like this:

0o o0

So, basically, anybody that would "think" these are BI-X hasn't really paid attention to how bi-x looks. Also, people who know how bi-x looks, would be able to notice the projector cutoff.

Just a little 411 on the difference in appearance between bi-x and halogen/regular HID/xenon.

Thank you....

I absolutely understand.
IF I coulda and woulda thought about it 100% I would have orderd the BIX with my car i.e.:$825 factory price (I believe). However I ordered it with everything I though I wanted at the time: H/K upgrade, memory steering wheel and seats, 7 speed auto, tele-aid (the wife), chrome wheels and then I put a 20% tint all the way around. So I thought I covered all my bases but I guess you learn something everyday. So since I missed the BIX, I had to settle for second fiddle on the lights, fake BIX or HIDs.

Neither of those lights....

Buy the Super Xenon 6000K, $65 a set. They are the ones I have. I only bought the low beams and I am ordering the high beams next. Like I said "they are 100% Xenon filled and are pure white with a tiny hint of blue. When you get them, install one of the bulbs and look at the difference between that bulb and the stock halogen, you'll love it. Also if it ever burns out they will replace it free, lifetime.

those pictures are...

They are showing you the 4000k or 5000k bulbs. In my opinion they do not have the high end European look like the Super Xenon 6000K does. You can compare them on the same page. They have a BMW and another car with the Super Xenon 6000K bulbs.

By the way my car is an 2006 C230 SS Black with Black leather.

Actually, I have decided, I bought a mercedes because I want high-end stuff, therefore, I am going with the HIDs.... and then I am going to buy some sweet rims, so yea, $100 turned into around $1000 or so... haha

EDIT:

this is my problem though...

I currently have halogen lights, so what size HIDs would I buy, the D2S or the H7 lights? The H7 is for the halogen size, but because the entire section of my lighting area thing is fit for halogen, wouldn't I buy the H7 HIDs or the D2S HIDs.... ???

BTW: I am buying the 8000Ks from here: http://www.xenonking.com/8000.htm

Thanks!
