Isn't that different between xenon and non-xenon?

Not quite, there can be HIDs with no projector enclosure. My mom's S500 has HID installed, but the lens still looks as if there are regular bulbs inside. The projectors make it visible that you have xenon bulbs installed.

That's not necessarily true. You can have halogen headlamps that are projector based. You won't be able to see the Xenon bulb anyway, since it's all covered.

true!

i have a '00 new beetle that has projector beams and come standard with halogen. i added on a xenon kit to it, but all new beetles come standard with projector low beam headlights. the old 5 series had xenon in reflective style before the angle eyes look came out. and as was mentioned before the S and E (E...02 and before ) had standard refelctive beam lights rahter than projector beam. i have ordered my '03 C230K with the C1, C4, C5, C7, COMMAND, CD changer, teleaid, and illuminated doorsills, and told my dealer that I will wait for delayed entry for xenon, but they are a must have for me. my car is not scheduled to be built until Nov. i dont care, i want xenon no matter what. after you drive a car with xenon and then without, its like driving with no headlights. i would rather have xenon with reflective type lights rather then projector halogen lights. though the projector look more stylish and up to date. though all in all i would rahter have projector xenon, they are more up to date and look better, but all in all i want xenon.

Will those new lights come standard on the 03 C class? Or is it an option?
Thanks

darn~ i want those projector headlight on my C320! in fact, i just saw it on a SL600 this morning....

can't believe why MB been so cheap w/ reflector headlight while Lexus, Audi and BMW all have projector light assembly?

plus, what make them think that their OEM HID set worth $1800?

em~ maybe i will grab a replica projector headlight set for my C320 on my next trip to Taiwan

I was under the impression that the BI_XENON option WILL come with projector beam headlamps for 03....??

I think we're still waiting to see if this is true...there's pics of '03 coupes without the xenon still have the old style reflector lights.

we're still waiting for pics of ANY '03 coupe or sedan with XENON to verify.....RIGHT ???!!

not to put u down or anything.. but i don't think mb was being cheap with the reflector headlight assembly...
IMO i've noticed that the reflector assembly on the S430 with halogens is wider and aims further than many of the projector headlamps... i've pulled up beside lexus' an audi's with xenons and the benz lights have been close to the same distance and width wize... just my opinion
