Tein Springs?

I found some tein springs on ebay for a steal ($110 + shipping). I haven't seen these talked about on this forum before, is anyone running them? Whats the drop look like? How about the ride comfort?

Unless someone has good expierience with these I think I'll just go the H&R route with the higest pad (#4?) in the rear and 1 coil cut off the front...

Thanks,

W Cole

Yes there was.. go search this forum about "Tein S-Techs"... I have S-techs on my 02 C240, stock shocks, cut 1 coil in front, stock rear pad. Unfortunately my car is still high but I'm satisfied though.

MJ has it right. You dial in the exact drop you want and have a matched spring/shock combo. If you get just springs, the stock shocks will blow because they weren't built to handle the added compression. You can match springs pretty well with Koni shocks, but they certainly weren't made to work with one another the way c/o's are. By the time you spend the money on springs and shocks, you could have just gotten TEIN Basic coilovers and done it right!

I'm thinking about getting these springs. Anyone know what the stock pad number is on a 2002 C320 sport? I wasn't sure if they had a different pad from the non-sport models because the ride height seems very close. I'm thinking about getting the highest available pad for the rear so that it won't end up rubbing and so the drop will look more even.

I'm pretty sure all sport models have the #2 pad. Remember, spring pads are only in the rear. Highest pad would be #4, but you probably will want to stick with the #2.

Are these authentic? They say they will drop my c230 ss by 1.5 inches...anyone have any experience with these on a 2004 c230?

Thanks!

This appears to be the same set of springs, just less drop and less expensive?

I had them on my 240 before the coilovers, and it was a nice drop, 2.5 in the back i think 1.7 in the front. Really made a difference on the 240, but yeah like drex said, for the other models, i dont think you will notice it much. But as long as i had them, they were fine. Good luck !
