Cig Lighter Help!!! PLEASE!
I was hoping that someone could help me out with instructions on how to replace the cig. lighter. Do I need to take apart the console or can I just pull it out and exchange wires. I just bought a 2002 c 230 coupe and the person before me never used the lighter and it is stuck inside and will not pop out. I tried to pry it out and some how broke it becuase the light will now not come on. I use a lot of accessories and need the outlet. If you have pictures that would be great too.

How to...well sort of
here are the steps as best I can explain them:
1. Open ashtray and lift up on the trim around the shifter. It's held in with clips. just lift.
2. Once the aluminum trim is up, pop the shifter boot piece from the trim and slide the trim over the shifter and set aside.
3. Open the cup holder. Remove the rubber part at the bottom of the cup holder compartment. This will allow you to remove the cup holder.
4. With the cup holder out, you can now lift up on the plastic piece the cigaret lighter is attached to.
I'm not sure how to get the lighter socket out, but this might be a start. It might pop out from the bottom.
