aftermarket projectors and HIDs

just got the car back from the shop. i had aftermarket BI-xenon replica housings and 8000k hid kit installed. the job took about 3.5 hours due to a custom made bracket for ballast and taking off of the bumper. all in all, i love the look. fitment is great, quality is great, and the hids in 8000k are nice too. i still have to do some beam adjustments but other than that, i am very happy. for all of you who dont want to spend the $1000+ on OEM bi-x, these are a perfect replacement with an aftermarket HID kit. i also have no warnings whatsoever. cheers!

where did you get everything along with specific brands/part numbers and how much did you end up spending?

i bought the headlight units from ebay and they were $400. i got the HID kit from another Mbworld member for $250. i also paid $260 to have everything installed at a shop. the total was around $800. it is still cheaper than buying bi-x alone nevermind with the labor for putting them in. cheers!

Jokers,

Couple questions...

Did you update from halogens or stock xenons? what specific brand headlight unit did you buy on ebay? What brand hid kit did you buy? Did you have to reprogram xenon=present? the beam pattern adjustments you need to make, is that fairly easy?

thanks and would love to see some pics?

Yes i updated from halogens. the units are DEPO and are an exact replica of the OEM bi-xenons. I bought a brandless HID kit from dlkc who is on this forum. simple plug and play with some minor mods. comes with a controller so no need to code xenon=present. yes the beam adjustsments are easy. all you need is a screwdriver and a long dark road. i just havent had the time yet to do it. quality and fitment of everything is great so far. no fogging or leaking. i will post pics soon once it stops snowing and raining.
