Refrigerator in C-class?

I was browsing around and noticed a really nice upgrade option on the Audi A8 L W12 model - a refrigerator hidden behind the rear armrest... Any possibility on getting something like this for a C-class? Is this available in germany or other places other than the US in Mercedes? I don't see it available even on the newly added S550 on MBUSA's site.... a shame...

When I drive from MI to NJ (or the other way around) I have a portable fridge that I keep in the car. It plugs into the cig. lighter and holds about 10 cans...or like 5 and some food. Great item. I suppose you could mount something like that in the trunk and have access to it rear armrest.

I use mine in my office. Its good for a few cans of Mtn Dew and a sandwich. The Chilled glovebox in the Benz does a better job of keeping things cool though. The porta fridge takes too long to cool something.

the armrest in the C-class is not a refrigerator per se, but does have a cooling mechanism in it that would assist in cooling your beverage/food/etc. there is a lever on the wall of the side of the armrest that i believe if pushup would allow airflow from the a/c to cool whatever is in the armrest.

something like that....STFM ( i should too....)

Yes, forgot about that, in the summer when the A/C is on, the center armrest has an adjustment to divert A/C cold air into the lower chamber. Doesn't hold much but can come in handy.

A box on 4 wheels
Im sure you can place on in your trunk but how would you make it so that you can go through the arm rest to get a drink.

i spose one can rig up Peltier modules (solid state heat pumps) into the armrest but they're not very efficient and relatively high current hogs. kinda neat to experiment with though.

Sounds like a job for the Trunk Monkey (if you don't know what a trunk monkey is, check my website's gallery section near the bottom).

the lexus LS 430 has this option in the rear seat somewhere near the armrest where it acts a cooler and keeps things cold, but not necessarily a fully functionally refridgerator of course....i dont think i want to keep veggies or meat in there anyway LOL

My thoughts exactly. All Sunman needs is for some stealer to tell him it can't be done, & there you have it.

Big Up Sunman!
