What Is The Best And Cheapest Insurance?
My bother was getting ready to purchase a WRX, but since they want to charge him around 1000.00 every 6 months, hes decided not to purchase it. He curently has Geico, is 28 and has had nothing(including accidents) ever on his record. Can anyone here point him in the right direction? thanks.

EXCEPT
if you have had a lapse in insurance withign the last couple of years for any reason. Standard practise in maryland is to jack your rates up sky highfrom anywhere from 6 months to 2 years

Depends on what state you are from too -- For example, $1000/6 months on a WRX doesn't sound too horrible considering I pay close to $1700/6 months with the gecko for my C...- 24 yrs old, perfect driving record... oh they like to hose here in NJ ;-)....

I live in S. Florida and I pay about $1400 every 6 month for my C and my '92 325i with Geico. I have about 12 speeding tickets and 1 minor accident.
I'm 22 right now.

Progressive is really cheap and pretty good.
I wouldn't suggest State Farm to an enemey. Read:
State Farm Mut. Auto. Ins. Co. v. Campbell, 538 U.S. 408
I wouldn't insure a Pinto with those crooks.

I just totalled my wife's car (2006 Dodge Charger RT, some dumb girl ran a red light)... progressive cut me a check for what the car was "worth". Turns out the check was for more than what a brand new one costs (since I get employee discounts). All in all, after sales tax breaks and mfg rebates, I came out about $2k ahead. My claims person was amazing... absolutely no problems. She even let me return my rental car in another city ($250 drop fee).

Cheap insurance is great until you need it. I used to have "The General" until my wife was rear ended and it turned into a total nightmare because of their lack of followthorugh / lack of interest. I roll AAA now (California) and it is worth the extra few hundred if I have a problem, my sales person / adjustor are in a local office.

I was nervous about how the "cheap" progressive would handle my claim, but again, they were excellent - not one complaint.
The reason mine picked up the tab is because the stupid girl had the minimum amount of coverage. With 4 cars totalled - $25k doesn't go very far. (2 civics, 1 expedition, and my Charger RT)
I'm not sure if my rates will go up because of the accident, my policy isn't due for renewal until July. I doubt it will, this is my only claim in over 3 years, and the accident wasn't my fault. Suppose there is always a chance though.

I pay about $1,100 a year for insurance now, but insurance rates are pretty high here because there are a lot of people that can't seem to keep those beer cans out of their cupholders. As slow as the speed limits are here there shouldn't be nearly as many accidents as there are.

hope that helps someone. Just remember dont ever be afraid to file a claim with you company even when its not your fault. it might turn out to be financially productive.
