C240 at 130 on 5 and 55 freeways... car was amazingly stable. Maybe with some powerchip and a pulley I could get to 140.
Also, depeding on the cop, 130 in a 65- they could take you to jail yes?

Anything over 100 is up to the cop. Wreckless Endangerment. But plan on the car being impounded, you lose your license for 15 days, and a $500 fine. But thats just what I hear.

haha. man i wish i could get it off. Seems like no matter what we do to our C's, or how ballsy we make the engines, essentially all we are doing is finding ways to get to the speed limiter, faster. haha

excites your girlfriend
you cannot turn it off without chipping your car (reflashing the ECU)
and if you say you can turn it off i call bull****, prove it with a picture of your car doing 145.

You can temporary disable limiter by changing country to factory default setting in star diag. but your boost will drop below 5psi.

Damn, you guys drive fast...
Model: 02 C320 Sedan
Country: USA
My Maximum Speed: 100 mph
Comments: Only had my license for 3 weeks, so the adrenaline made it feel like there was a lot more noise and shaking, but it was probably just my body. Not satisfied with the acceleration from 80-100.

2003 C240
My car: 2003 C240
Country: USA
My Max Speed: I'm going to say prolly 118..I don't think I made it to 120.
Comments: It's very difficult to try this in the Boston/North of Boston area, there's lots of cops and the roads are not very good. Because of those factors I'm a little nervous for going much faster. Although I know I'll push it sometime I wish I had a closed road to try, such as a track. Very smooth at 118. And one more thing, I love how these cars pick up so well when you're already moving at high speed.

My Car: 2003 C320, 6-Speed Manual
Country: USA (New York)
Road: I-95, I-87, I-287
Max: 130 (MPH)
Comments: Not stable, not reassuring. If a huge pot hole, a deer, or any obstacle came onto the road, at that speed the Benz would not be able to cope with the maneuvering or braking.
It's worth mentioning my BMW 330i (ZHP, 6-speed manual) is limited at 155MPH, and I hit 150MPH it felt more assuring - perhaps it's the M-Suspension (sits lower), Lower profile tires, wide tires, and very thick steering make it feel more secure. I know the AMG Versions are much more responsive and greater ability at those speeds, but wasn't too trusting with my C320. I think that's the difference with the 3-Series and C-Class, at higher speeds the 3-Series is a little more stable - I low speeds they're even.

This was a huge shocker for me. The new Lexus LS460 which has an 8-speed transmission can do 130 mph at only 3400 rpms in top gear... On an 05 C230K SS Auto, 130 mph requires 5200 rpms.
