06' BMW M3
05' 230 SS K
USA
120MPH so far (had to shut it down due to traffic)
I was impressed with it's stabilty for such a small car.Felt relatively safe in considering the speed.I've lowered(H&R springs) it since then, should improve the "feel" now.

it's saved me a ton of tix. I haven't had an occasion where I was pulled over and it failed to detect the radar.
So, better to have a less expensive one than none at all.
If you detect 9 out 10 of the cops with radar trying to get yer sorry ***, it's better than Zero!
Whatever your logic, these days a speeding ticket (in Cali) costs about 200-300 plus the increased insurance for 3 years, which for me was like an extra 200-400 a year just for the one ticket I mentioned earlier in this thread. Which is well over $1000 for one f'ing ticket.
So, just buy one.
On another note, I was on my fav fast freeway (85) again the other night...
just couldn't resist just a small throttle blip...
sheeit, I punch it, get up to about 90 in 2 seconds flat and see...
I'm about to pass a cop with a lowrider lightbar!
Dammit! Slowed down before I passed him, and he went about his biz.
Thankfully.

I was the same....held off because of the $300 + cost of a Valentiine or top line escort...eventually I just bought $50 Cobra off ebay...

From what I hear, the SOLO is the only one you'd want to buy for a cordless radar detector.

No, i always drive in C mode unless i'm in a racy mood. I didn't realize i was in C mode at the time but this was on the high way during the summer. Nice hot day on a straightaway I would never go that fast on snowy or rainy days

I remember when I was driving back to Singapore from Malaysia a couple of years ago and I wished I had a more powerful car. I can't remember its name but the road that leads you to the Johor-Singapore Causeway is great for top speed runs. You can just open up like you don't give a f#ck. I was in a 'speedy Proton Wira' but I saw a couple of Ferraris, Vipers and Porches with Singapore tags fly by me like I was standing still.

I thought this thread was for our C class top speeds?
So that being said...
Ferrari 308 (rental!) Oahu, H2 freeway, 4am, no one on the road...
150mph +. I stopped trying to look at the speedo...
I looked down once and traversed all 3 lanes...
so I don't know exactly how fast I was going...
150-160 before I backed off on the throttle with the roof off....tears streaming out my eyes...the engine just screaming!
Fun!!!
My little C Coupe....I try not to drive fast, but every once in a while,
I just get my foot into it for an extra 10 seconds or so...and I look down to find I'm doing 120....happened the other night....where I should never be driving that fast. Slowed my *** down pronto.
It just wants to go, especially when you get your suspension upgraded,
and well the pulley, etc....Downshifts to 5th around 120? All the way 90 in 3rd. You don't feel like you're going fast only at maybe 4K rpm at 120.
I'm sure the cops would disagree.
