V60 Phone

Has anyone found a cheaper source for the V60 phone than Autoclass.net?
$1,488 is a little steep for the entire kit without the voice activation.
Also is it complicated to install into a C-320.

That price is the best I've seen yet if it includes the Voice Recognition module as well. The price is steep. That is what MB itegration costs unfortunetly.

V 60 Phone

Is there anyway to use the existing phone system (tele-aid) that is in the car?

No. Teliaid uses a analong system that authenticates itself in some pretty secure ways.

This guy beat me on an auction for a MB v60 on e-bay. I e-mailed him and he said he didn't need it. He was going to sell it for $350.

All I know its for ATT (I have Cingular) I believe it wont work. Has to be the exact model for cingular. Some lock or something...

E-mail him and he will probably sell it cheap..

I would have but I just spent some money on some new rims.

e-bay auction

The guys e-mail

hope this helps

Keep in mind there are currently 2 flavors of Mercedes branded Motorola V60's. There is the v60t (TDMA) for ATT/Cingular and the v60c (CDMA) for Verizon.

Even without voice recognition, you get:
  • hands free capability
  • steering wheel controls (volume control, scroll through phone book, place/end calls)
  • integration with COMAND (if you have it)

I guess I lucked out-I ordered VR but MB had no clue what service I used. When brought on line with Verizon after a call to them to setup-phone worked just fine. The phone is a nice piece of work even w/o VR and the integration features IMHO make it worth the $.:p

Incorrect. Cingular does have certain areas that are still TDMA- A and B side.

Does anyone know how to see if a TDMA MB V60 that is made for ATT will work on my Cingular network? (Texas - not GSM)

Thanks
