$115 at autohaus. Looks like a D-I-Y job.

Try not to drive on 'rocky' roads.

The MB dealer is going to be about 2 - 3 X of what you can D-I-Y, typically. You sort of have to assume that they are going to be $$$$ for repair & maintenance when you buy the car (?)

Oh yeah, foglights aren't cheap... My mother hit a cat while driving home one night late for a meeting. Don't worry -- the darn thing survived after jumping out in front of her... Either way, a furry thud and a broken foglight later, she was at the dealership... *grr*...

Anywho -

Unfortunately, there’s not a road in Texas that doesn’t have tons of debris flying around on it and the freeways down here are worse than rural roads. One of the prices that many Texans are paying for free trade with Mexico is a rapid deterioration of our roads, caused by increased foreign commercial traffic. Meanwhile, Texas DoT recently announced that most roadway construction/repair projects are going to be stopped indefinitely, due to lack of funds. Where, oh where, are all of those gas tax windfall revenues going? But I digress. Anyway, I don’t have a problem changing out the lamp myself. Do you have a website, or phone number for Autohaus? Quite a few sites came up when I searched the Internet for “Autohaus.”

As for 400 dollars to replace one fog light - thats ridiculous. Just buy it and install it yourself... wont take more than an hour even if you've never done it before and shouldn't cost you more than 100 bux for the fog light.

I'll suggest hitting up stickercity also and buying their protective light films also. The fog light lenses are completely horizontal unlike the windshield, thus gettin hit by a rock isnt much of a deflection, but more like completely eating the rock.
I have never replaced one on an 07, but I did replace the lens on my 04 230 sport today. It was very easy to do. Three clips hold the lens in place and after I cleaned the reflector and removed the broken glass, the new lens snapped into place with the three clips. I hope the 07 is the same way for you. Two 8m bolts held mine in place and was very easy to change. I got the new bulb from AUTOZONE for about $10.

I also have a cracked lens. Mine's an '05 with AMG package. Are you sure the lens cant be changed out seperately?

If anyone knows the part number for the fog light and/or lens only, it would be helpful.

Even though that says its compatible with years 01-07, thats not the AMG style fog light, its the regular one. You can tell by the shape when you click view illustration.

When you order the part, you put in the vin number of your car so they will verify the part. I have never had a problem with them. I too thought the lens looked wrong and even when I had it in my hand, I wasn't sure. It fit perfect.

There is a yellow tint you can put around the outside of the lens on the foglights. A few members have done this to their fogs, hopefully they'll chime in.

I'll be doing the same shortly, but with either yellow bulbs or yellow HID, not lens tint.
I think it will look different, but a nice contrast in colors with my 6000K HID.

yellow fogs are ricey...

I don't like the film, I don't like how the lenses are yellow when the lights are off...

I have Hoen Endurance fogs on my M3 and I really like the way they look.

I like the Lexus IS300 look too. I was debating for awhile about whether to have tinted fogs or just a yellow bulb. I decided to go with the yellow bulb and keep the clean black, clear and chrome look.
