just wanted to chime my two cents.
I have ahd the same problem for a while.
A clicking sound when i start out and tap the brakes. And again when i engge reverse and then brake. Until I pointed it out did passengers in my car notice. It drives me nuts. In the morning i tense up in fear of hearing it. It is not acceptable for a car from any country to have this problem

I also noticed that my front-passenger side sometimes made the ticking noise.

My SA said that it was normal that the electrical system or something under the hood made those ticking noises .

good call. brought it to the shop and it was the wheel lock hitting the brake assembly. grinded the bolt down and problem solved.

its not brake pads.

I replaced both front and rear brake pads with paste/ rotars, did a brake flush, parking brake shoe was replaced. its still there, I think it might be the rear caliper.

My clunking sound is the driver side strut, confirmed by a tech in a independent shop. Gonna have dealer check it out

hmmm....

for this ticking noise, it sounds like the caliper hitting the rotor, I'm goin to the dealers tomorow, see whats going on with a few OTHER weird noises...

I had my front torsion bars, endlinks, lower control arms replaced for the front. I think I might have damaged the rear, so that might have to be replaced as well!

Nope the dealer wont cover my work cos the previous owner lowered the car and my SA voided any suspension issues from my warranty, Nevermind the fact that the car is purchased as a CPO in the condition it is in now ! I even have pics to prove it.

if its a clapping noise, I think that should be the same sound as mike (waveykat)'s car.

Does anyone know anything about this. Thanks in advance! "

and I have the same problem, its this loud metal "ticking" noise, I have no idea whats wrong. I the brakes apart, added brake paste, reinstalled the brakes and cleaned the rotors, whats going on!??
I have the same issue as you do. Clanking noise only going in reverse under 4mph after hitting the brake hard, noise starts just before you back your foot off the brake. I have not inspected under the car yet but I walked along side of the car when we started the noise. At first I thought the noise was coming from the rear brakes but it doesn't sound that way. My first impression is the exhaust system coming in contact with another part.

Have you figured out what your problem is yet?
