All you brake expert, please advice

I posted earlier about my gf's 2005 brake caliper that I messed up, I am about to purchase a brand new OEM caliper but before I order, I want to check with you guys. Is there any shop in S Cali that I can get the caliper rebuilt? What happened was I took off the two bolts on the front face of the caliper and brake fluid leak out...stupid me yeah....so now it lost the pressure and brake is gone. The shop told me I have to replace the whole caliper...anyone know of a way to fix it? The caliper costs $550 they quoted me. Any input is greatly appreciated.

How can a caliper cost $550 when people get complete new pair of calipers/rotors and pads for $650 not too long ago.

buy a seal kit and bolt it back together! Then bleed the brakes.

I know that, I checked with MB parts...they no longer make the kit. I called dozens of brake service place they could not find any rebuild kit for this car. Only luck I had was with Power Brake. I wonder how they can do it, but I already sent them the caliper and just crossing my fingers.
