Passport 8500 X50

I have a new Passport 8500 X50 in the middle of my c320 front window so i thought i was alright to drive a little faster than i should. I was in a plantation doing 49 in a 30 and then stopped at a stop sign. I pulled out and drove past a cop at normal speed and my radar started going off. Kept on driving and cop turns around and pulls me over for 19 over. WTF

This is not a real cop and still got me with his radar when mine didnt even go off. Has anyone else gotten pulled with an X50 or does my luck just suck. (This is my 6th speeding violation in 1 1/2 years of driving.)

If he lasered you, no radar on Earth can help you. I have one as well, and I've never been pulled over. Maybe you should return it and get another one.

Yes, every single person I know who has a radar detector all have the Valentine One. Nobody else I know has anything else.

I was considering purchasing one but then I realized how slowly I drove. I do have my moments though, sometimes for fun I'll plant the accelerator down. Today on the way to the airport I hit 97 mph. Apparently even at 5AM the roads have quite a few cars on them.

Wow, maybe you should consider trading in your C320 for a C230...... you drive too fast

While most of us have V1 (I have a older model V1, still works great....except the arrow is not accurate any more), Passport 8500 is still a good radar, keep your eyes open, better luck next time.

i got the x50 blue edition (went with the white/blue theme from my old car). haven't gotten a ticket with one yet but then again i don't speed that often. i've heard v1 are better then the x50 and vice versa. you should test both to see which one you like better. with the v1 you get the arrows, but then again once your radar gets a reading don't you slow down? i'm thinking abuot selling my x50

this is not a real cop and he wrote you a ticket? is that possible?

The problem is that the X50 doesn't alert to every laser gun like the V1, doesn't alert to POP radar as often as the V1, and doesn't alert every time to quick pulsing of radar (instant-on) as often as the Valentine One. Don't believe me......believe the graphs, charts, and videos below because they don't lie.

V1 is the best in laser detection:

http://www.laserveil.com/laser-detec...adar-detector/

http://www.laserveil.com/laser-detec...ice-laser-gun/

Here is a link and video of the V1 alerting to radar quicker than the X50 and sometimes the X50 didn't alert to the radar at all. They are quick pulling the radar gun's trigger and the X50 is filtering it out and the V1 is picking it up every time.

V1 wins in POP detection:

http://media.putfile.com/JammerTestscom_tests_V1X50_POP

V1 wins because it detects a certain laser gun in stealth mode while the X50 remains silent:

I am assuming the OP meant both he and the cop where moving. LIDAR can only be used if the cop is stationary.

I have had this experience before as well with my V1. I was rolling at 70mph in a 70 zone, no speeding. Saw the cop coming down the road and all of a sudden, he drives through the median and comes up behind me. The radar, after he pulled up behind me, starts going off. I was pissed at that moment is an understatment. Stated I was going 85 and marked me for 80.

Went to court and fought it. Did not really matter, the judge made up his mind before I even walked in (not much respect for non-residents). Luckily, I have an Ohio license and was driving in Michigan and they do not have reciprocity (sp?) agreements (I believe out of all 50 states, only Michigan and Wisconsin are not sharing driver info with consequences).

Anyway, I only get a slap on the wrist from this experience from Ohio State gov which goes off my record in three yrs, and no need to pay a fine. All the cops on the highway, RADAR and LIDAR, have been detected with my V1. I truly believe the cop was just filling a quota. The day the incident above happened was also the same day he pulled me over 7 yrs ago. He just doesn't remember me. He has gotten fatter and more forgetful....

Note that POP isn't on by default in the X50. You need to go to the settings and turn it on.

Note to RaDaRkInG: I'm not contesting the videos (haven't watched them). I wanted to pass the POP info to the original poster. I have an X50, and I didn't know until reading my manual through.

True, but the beginning of the video shows you that the X50's POP detection is turned on during testing.

Don't have a Mercedes right now...
Just remember that cops can give you a ticket by estimating your speed based on their spedometer. They don't necesarily need to use radar!
