HID Question.

I want to upgrade to 6000k or 8000k still debating.

I was a car shop this week and I was asking for prices of their HIDs.
The guy in the shop said that I already have HIDs because of my BIX and I just need to change the bulbs.
Is this true? I told the guy that BiX produces 4300k he said it still works.

I dont believe its true.

if u already have bi-xenons, all you have to do is change the bulb... for example, PIAA D2S is 6600K.

If you have BIX all you have to do is upgrade the bulb. You will need D2S size bulbs, so it is an exact swap. I upgraded mine to 6000K. Check with Jose at Carlab. I got mine from him.

Yes, I second that. Upgrade your bulb to 6000K in the case of PIAA...D2S 6600K.

8000k kick ***! Heres a pic of mine.. Btw 6000k is more purple, 8000k is more blue! If you already have bi xenon all u need to do is just upgrade the bulbs, if you want hid fog, u need the whole set with ballast etc

I want HID fogs too, i have the regular BIXs, but i dont know if i should get 4300k HID fogs to match them or upgrade the BIXs to 6000k and then get 6000k HID fogs to match them. did you install the hid fogs yourself? if so, was it hard?

thankx

go get the 6000k.. Or even 8000k! I got my hid fogs installed at a local shop for 80bucks.. After seeing them did it, it was quite an easy job as long as you got the proper tools.

the higher the number, the lower
the light output. so all those high numbers are bragging rights to the
uninformed, and in actuality, the avg light output is roughly 40% less than
the factory HID output (of 4300ºK). they do look 'cool' though. but then
again, to spend all that extra money to fit low output bulbs seems counter-
productive to me.
