Hmmm...you should be fine. What suspension do you have again? If memory serves me right, you have TEIN's right?

are you sure the wheel or tires are not rubbing against the strut??? you might be too low depending on the offset of your wheels. you might need a spacer.

thanks for the invite drex, I'm not sure I can make early as possible (esp. in el monte). but if you could let me know, I'm totally interested, and now I'm looking into vogtland springs.
Your car shouldn't be rubbing if you have stock suspension setup, except maybe with hard turning. You'll know when it rubs, especially if you lower your car with springs or coilovers and have an aggressive tire/rim offset. Screeech...

I remember someone in another post said to put some kind of white powder/paint on the wheels, and if it rubs it whould rub off onto the wheel wells. Then you will know for sure if it's rubbing or not.

I got the 17" double spoke AMGs, they're CLOSE CLOSE CLOSE enough to rub, i guess with a lil more PSI up front, it'd rub lol

I believe its the other way around...you put white chalk onto the inner-guard where you suspect that you are rubbing, then go for a drive. If the chalk has disappeared form where you put it on then you know it is definately rubbing.

Thx for correcting me Benzo. Least i got the concept right.
Oh and about the hard cornering and rubbing, i don't think that rubbing at all. This car has a lot of understeer so the front wheels are the firt 1s to lose traction. So the noise made during hardcornering is just the front wheels skidding a bit. I don't think the ESP comes on when this happens... dunno why though.

I just got some 18 x 8 and 18 x 9's installed on my C230K SS with no rubbing issues what so ever during sharp turns. I am running 235's in front and 265's in rear and everything is fine even with a full load of people in the car.

Like others said, it's all about the offsets of the rims.

Peace!

Waveykat is running 19's, so if the offset is the same on your 18's vs. his 19's, it has to be more than just the offset. It could be the ride height, could be the shock settings, etc...There are so many factors that can contribute to rubbing.

so lets say the offsets are 35 in the front and 37 in the rear running 235/35/19 in the front and 255/30/19 in the rear would there be any rubbing issue. Not to forget stock setup on everything else

I'm pretty sure the stock offset is 32 front, 36 rear. I can't remember exactly, so 35 F / 37 R is 3mm more in the front and 1 mm more in the rear, so the rear is closer to stock offset than the front. I don't know how much a difference the 3 mm's in the front would make.

Hey nlpamg, yes the suspension is stock. I only have added the C55 wing and the 18" TSW's to the car. I thought about lowering it, but i have 2 kids that i have to cart around in sometimes and I didn't want to subject them to the rough ride.

Phil, you can tell he's got stock suspension because even your car looks lower. My car would've looked exactly like that if I got my rims first.
