The next MBenzNL (US) installation trip is scheduled for September and we have aleady started our preparations. - new 2003 US spec D2B comand (for the 203s up to 2005): 1900USD incl 12 month warranty
- new 2004 US spec D2B SAT-compatible comand (for the 203s up to 2005): 2100USD incl. 12 months warranty
- new 2006 US spec MOST DVD comands (MCS II): 2600USD incl. 12 months warranty (limited stock)
- bi xenon headlights: 1250USD installed
- power folding mirrors with switch - the 2005 and up 203 has the ability to autofold the mirrors when locking the car: 750USD installed
- clear halogen headlights for the 203 coupe: 500USD installed
- euro anti blind spot glasses (autodimming L side and regular R side glass – both sides heated): 200USD installed
- updated 203 coupe taillights: 375USD installed

2006 MCS II will fit 2005 W203 as well. It doesn't play movie DVDs (which is something all US spec DVD comands can't do).

@14cue: Steve will definitely not be able to swing by Vancouver during this trip, but he may be able to go there again in the future. Don't know when, though... it's not very likely that it will happen this year.

When I think anti blind spot mirrors, i think of the kind of mirrors that are convex shaped so when you look at them you can see a wider field of view, thus the anti blind spot name.

The description is just a bit confusing - saying that they are autodimming and heated, but called anti blind spot.

What does the MCS II designation mean? Are there any differences between the 2005 and 2006 command units?

The US gets MCS units manufactured by alpine...the rest of the world gets comand units manufactured by becker

The navigation units in the US are called MCS II units - not comand (in proper terminology).

@bwco: W203 coupe bi xenons are VERY rare to get (for a decent price)... so don't count on it.

@raunen: No. There is no US spec MCS II unit that can get TV (or DVD) enabled.

@Drex: Thanks - looking forward to your update. I do hope, though, that they will make it work!

so even if i get the tv tuner added and dvd player, i can't use them while in motion?

 

... there won't be an original MB TV tuner that can be connected to the MCS II unit - it just doesn't work with it.

And the Euro W203 DVD comands can't be versioncoded for TV while in motion, either. The pre 2005 US and Euro (CD-rom) comands CAN get TV while in motion.
