Why would MercedesBenz have any authority on what appears on this forum and what doesn't?

Uh, we need an engineer to pitch in on this. You may be doing something potentially deadly to your car.

Could you please back up this claim with some real time information, I'm sure everyone here would like to see this claim backed up with some proof, I'm very interested in hearing and or reading more info in regards to your claim and if there's any collateral to this mod.

my high and low mixtures were off and after talking w/ other shops they all told me to do this, if you can get live data on whatever tool ur using u'll see that ur maf is goin bad. i reset my self adaption and it seems to be doin fine, this isn't a performace upgrade, i did this to simply repair my bad maf the insert is the same but the housing is different. you think BOSCH makes different parts for every car? no they don't

I'm getting a CEL issue. supposedly the issue is an air/fuel mixture issue. would this resolve it??

MBHustla858,

Very interesting discovery! How did you determine which VW/Audi sensor to use to replace your MAF sensor? For example I run a MB Part 000 094 05 048 in my 1996 C36. How would you determine what would be compatible with this application?

As long as the openings and operations are the same I don't see a problem. You are likely getting the performance that you were suppossed to. I don't think that you would be getting increased air flow though.

He is right, Bosch and other companys make lots of parts that are common to different chassis.

it could be, but w/ o live date you are really just guessing, if u do in fact need a MAF get the audi part and insert it into ur maf.

urs takes a round connector... i know there is a different MAF to use there too but im not sure which one it exactly is.... i work at a shop and been talkin w/ other shops... who have done this and not have customer comebacks... thought i'd give this a whirl.......

That's the CEL error I get when I run the computer test. Is replacing this sensor something that's DIY? I'm not clear on where it's located along with how big this sensor is. Plus I'm ready to replace something to not get that CEL light on.

pretty interesting... its kinda like... 1fastc32 using a ford intercooler pump to replace the stock one that is prone to failure...

Did you have to modify the thing at all? was it a direct fit? which audi car does it come off of?

would like to know as well. I'm getting a CEL and it's starting to grow on me.. I'm not bothered by it but I would like to have it eliminated not for just 2hrs after an OBDII reset either.

well that HFM from audi is under 70 bux, if you do need a hfm, go that route, you should first see what the issue is before you are throwing parts at it
