C240 private seller pricing ok?
I have an '03 C240 6speed with 32,000 miles on it. It's covered on warranty until September 2008. I'm selling it and I have it listed at $20,500 and I have no bites. Is my price way too high? I mean, it's just $350 above NADA trade-in value. All opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps because it has a manual transmission. The market is quite narrow for luxury sedans with a clutch.
You might take a look at autotrader.com to reach a wider audience, and if quoting a price in your ad, consider $19,999 to pick up people searching for under $20K.

It is tough selling a manual trans car, took me about 3 months to dump my c-coupe. But the price might be high as KBB is what most people go by and your car is worth, at best, in excellent condition, $16.8K trade-in or $20.5K for private party price in The O.C. and since I don't know where you car is, its just a guess. In Florida for example, expect to get $1K less. Also figure that unless you really prepped your car for sale like a dealer would (newish tires, brakes, perfectly detailed, excellent is not a realistic score) so most figure good and that's $1K less.

i'm on my fourth month trying to unlaod my c230 SS. A lot of inquiries and two prospective buyers but I have lowered my price to $18K . I can;t seem to get rid of it. Also there a lot of losers that have offered to take over my payments and a bunch of lowballers that offered $16K. If anyone is interested PM me, car's a six speed, nav, H&R springs and exhaust.

Hey Moosejaw, i saw your c230 on autotrader when i was shopping for one. I ended up buying a c320 in Miami. Yours is a good deal, i'm not sure why you still have it. Do you have those other rims for sale?

I paid 13,300 for an 02 c320 sport with 80k miles. I know they are high miles but thats why it was cheaper. How much do you wan for the carlssons? Do they come with tires?

The thing is, it does have brand new EBC green stuff brake pads ready to be installed, tires have 1,500 miles on them, car has been detailed and is as good as new. I desperately need to get rid of this car as I have another lined up. This is killing me!

The only way you will sell the car quick is to a) price it right, probably half-way between excellent trade-in and private party price or to shop dealers, bring it in and see what they'll give you for it but with a stick you would be doing good to get trade-in. I once got 14,500 from a dealer for a car that I couldn't sell in 3 month for 13,500. One guy low balled me at 12,900 and I said yes but he had to "think about it". Whilst he was thinking, called a few dealers and poof, had check in hand in 10 minutes. The guy was soo pissed. He won't be thinking about it too long next time. BTW, trade-in on that car was 16,500 but it was not a popular car.

i just picked up an automatic 02 white c240 for my dad at 14900. it is in excellent condition with 61k miles.
in retrospect i would jsut get rid of it at like 5k under bluebook retail. maybe less. my opinion.

The C240 is not a very "in demand" car...and it being a manual doesn't help. You might have to bite the bullet on this one...I am preparing to do the same in a few months on mine
