Things that they took out in 2007 W203 (C230)

Dear friends,
Hi, just want to let other friends know that for the 2007 C230, they took out the " parking assist side mirror auto tilt " feature, when I was reading through the manual and did not see anything about it, I did research and found out that the feature was removed for 2007. I'm a little sad about this. I mean they took away the " key memory recognition feature " for 2006, and also took away the " easy exit feature for the seat" not to mention the leather inserts.
I'm am just letting newbies know if ever they're interested with the 07, overall am still happy with my choice ( over 325i )
But maybe we should like send a letter to MBUSA or email saying they should focus more on adding stuff/feature or improving instead of taking features away. After all they did increase the price for $450.00

2007 C230!!
Wow. I actually went with an 07 with no options because I didn't need all that stuff. But i agree, seems like they are going backwards....

P.S. not to go off topic. But I am lovin' my 6 speed! The sound with the windows down is pretty good! The exhaust has a nice howl to it.

USD has become worthless compared to the Euro, they have to shave features to save costs or increase the price.

According to gary-dragon, the only thing that MB will save money on is the leather inserts. The other features are just enabling the programming, the funtionality is still there.

Ummm... I don't think so, my sales rep ask the technician, and he said it has to have a relay or something to have those features, and also I'm almost finish with the owner's manual and did not find anything on those I mentioned. ( I stand to be corrected, but if there is a way to program it, would appreciate if you could let me know )

you might want to get a hold of the Euro Parts Pimp to turn some of those features on. If it can be done i'm sure Steve will be able to to do it.

I wonder why MB does not just turn the features on, if they are already there? Someone care to explain?

What I mean is it would not have cost MB anything to enable those features, the core functionality is there ie: power seats, power mirrors. And the programming has already been done for previous models, so they don't have to invest money in engineering these features. It doesn't make much sense to take it away, unless these features are problamatic, causing increased warranty service calls.

What's an "anti tow" button ? My car is a 2002 and I never saw a button labelled "anti tow".

its a button to disable the tilt sensor in the car when your car is being towed. If you don't deactivate that sensor then the alarm will go off when your car is being towed.

the button looks like a car tilted at an angle with a hook behind it.

Ok , I think I've seen that button on other cars, I don't have a factory alarm on my car so that explains why I don't have the button.

MB also took away the second compartment in the center arm rest.
Now you do not have the center arm rest height adjustment any more.
The 05 & 06 had the center console cover feature that you can open from either driver or passenger side.
For 07, you must have the phone option in order to have this second compartment for your cell phone.

I wonder if we can buy the part and put it in ourselves
