I haven't seen under the hood of an M5, but I see that it has 8 throttle bodies. It is very possible that they are using velocity stacks in addition to the double VANOS system. I have seen many examples of curved velocity stacks.
I should have been a little clearer in my previous post. The staggered length of the velocity stacks on the Can-Am serve to optimize the performance of each cylinder in a particular portion of the rev range. The point of this is to flatten the torque curve of the engine. Variable valve timing will do the same thing. If a car has both, the velocity stacks are to straighten and smooth the air flow into the manifold runners.

FrankW, that M5 is the new dinan M5 in C&D. i think somehwere in there it says he added velocity stacks to up the power. i just thought it was part of the individual throttle bodies as well.

The polished stainless is 300 series. Not used nearly as much except for tips.

okay. im really picky with sounds. i don't want my car to be heard from a mile away. i just want to hear some power at the top end of the range. ie. 3000 rpm+. so my question is: where can i get some sample sounds so that a comparison test can be made. i heard the remus and i sounds perfect. any suggestions?

Finally came in after being delayed for two months by the longeshoremen strike.
Got it installed up at MB Autowerks north of Atlanta, they did a great job and it looks great. Here are a couple of pics.

I dont know how much hp I'm gaining, but I'm guessing it would not be more than 2 or 3. My butt dyno couldnt feel any difference. It sounds good, has a deep note at low rpm, a stronger sound at midrange, but doesnt change the stock note much at high rpm. Overall I'm very satisfied!

C230 2.3 Manual Coupe
I like the Kleeman names on the ends.
What's the Coupe's stock exhaust anyway? Is it a straight through design or does it have muffling resonators?
