The car belongs to the Pharmacy Director of a local hospital. Though we do not have actual dyno numbers for comparison, his words were (after about 2000 miles of driving)...
"I am surprised that it really helped out a lot (having this exhaust) on acceleration"
So for whatever that means, it may depend on each individual.

that is extremely nice. Where can I get that dual exhaust? Is it just two stock exhausts welded together? The bumper wouldn't be a problem. Just find a good body shop or a colision center and they'll cut and mold your bumper however you like. And of course, how much for the one like in the pic.

So my question is bassicaly, do you think it would cost alot to get a second cut-out for the exhaust on the right side??

hmm
I wouldn't think so. But I'd really recommend to get a very good body shop to do the cutout. One of my friend has done it to his BMW and end up with a cracked bumper and many chipped paints. As for costs. He didn't pay that much. Forgot exactly but all the shop has to do is cut a hole with a machine saw and cover up the chips and repaint. I dunno. But go do it. It's gonna look awesome.

Remus VS Renntech exhaust?
Hey, I just installed the remus on my car. I got it from KMAN from these forums, he was a nice help, he met up with me so i could hear his car with it.
Anyways, ive heard that the Renntech exhaust is manufactured by sebring. It looks almost identical except the tips are huge squares from what it looks like on their site.
I was wondering if anyone had a muffler from them, and if there is a noticeable difference in sound compared to the remus. I remmeber renncpe posted a clip of one? It sounded nice and loud.
Thanks!
P,S its very easy to do exhaust installations on these cars. U just drop the rear section with 3 bolts, and unhook teh rubber hangers. If you have access to a lift its an easy do it yourself.

congrats on the mod. i will be doing the same in the next month or so. do you have the coupe or sedan? also, how much did you pay and did you get the full cat-back or just the muffler. i have a price for a sebring full cat-back specific for the c240 sedan. its a pretty good price just want to know if you really like your remus and if it sounds anything like the examples on the remus website. any info is greaty appreciated. thanks.

Hey man, remember me? I bought the clear corners from u
The remus at first i thought hmm its a little quiet. THen i stepped out of the car and had someone hit the gas for me. It rumbles VERY good. It soundsperfect, its loud enough for a luxury car. Nice and deep at low rpm.
I have a c230 coupe. I have no resonator b/c i had the C7 package. I heard KMAN's car, and i do think it was signifigantly quieter. It still rumbled and sounded much more suited to the coupe, but personally it sounds relly nice without it.
I have just the muffler. Where do u see the sebrings for sale. Can anyone verify if they are like a spinoff of remus, becuase the renntech one sure looks teh same from one i hear. I love my remus tho, i was concerned i wouldnt like the sound and i would be dissapointed but its very good. I got a decent price on it too.

oh yeah, now i remember..... i forgot your username. anyways, a few shops in my area (toronto, canada) told me that remus has changed there materials in the last year or so to some cheaper stuff. thats why there prices are significantly lower than a few years ago....i guess its to keep up with all the other muffler companies out there that offer really cheap mufflers. sebring is made in austria and from what i heard is owned by remus. in fact if you go to the remus and sebring websites, they are practically identical. regardless, sebring sounds almost exactly the same only with the same materials remus used before the new stuff. ptices unfortunatley are much higher for a sebring. but if you like the sound, im pretty sure i will stick with either or. i will probably get the resonator too just not sure if it will make the sound quieter or louder. i'll pm kman to see what he thinks.

The resonator is like a secondary muffler.
Without it it will be deeper and louder. I like it like that. I figure if ur gunna replace an exhaust with a sport one, mite as well make it sound sporty
Good to know that sebring and Remus are the same. I did compare 2 and they are identical looking, materials look the same too. Who knows abt quiality.
The welds on the remus loook a little sloppy, but the muffler is perfect for me. no one sees the welds, and i got the muffler in perfect shape thanks to kman. The tips fit perfect too, and it bolts rite up with the stock mounting hangers.
Hope that helps.

great.....thanks for the help. i will try with and without the resonator to see how it sounds. btw, is there any way to make a muffler quieter......say if its too loud, can you add some damping material inside to quiet the sound? just curious because im also considering the eisanmann race but want to fine tune it if possible. any thoughts.....anyone?

exhaust decision
okay, the time has now come for me to get an exhaust. i have narrowed it down to 3 choices
1.) Sebring/Remus
2.) Carlsson Quad
3.) Eisenmann
for those who don't know, remus and sebring are the same company only sebring is a little more expensive because it uses higher grade materials. i really want a quad exhaust......but not four tips just two (dual.....whatever, just for clarity). i know carlsson makes this but may be expensive. has anyone used an eisenmann exhaust on a c240 sedan? i am really curious to know how it sounds. on their intro og their website, they have a bimmer that sounds awesome. will my car have the same sound or totally different? any suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks all.

both the eisenmann and supersprint sound nice. the only thing i don't like is the sound the supersprint makes right when you turn on the ignition. it sounds like a lawnmower....but once the car starts moving, it sounds really nice. the eisenmann is nice also, but am wondering if it will be too loud. is there any way to decrease muffler sound if i fing its too loud...ie: damping material inside muffler?
#469
The Eisenmann mufflers are available in three increments of loudness. You might want to contact Dr. Leonoff to see which he was using. He posts a lot on the slk forums at benzworld.org. His user name is Periokid.

The question should be which of them including AMG will give you the most performance....hp increase, will make my decision easier.

Can a REMUS exhaust on a C230K reduce perormance???
Hey guys and girls,
I just got my car back from the dealer. They fixed all the problems and little cosmetic flaws I pointed out. What good service
I had a complaint about a delay when i slam the gas down and when teh car starts to move. It feels like the esp boggin me down but the dealer says specifically its my REMUS exhaust that is causing a lack of back pressure. He told me how the stock muffler is well designed bla bla, but isnt the remus designed specifically for the car as well? I was more thrilled with the look and sound of the remus, but am I truely losing performance. now that I CUT the stock muffler off its hard to just stick the old one back on and compare the low end.
Give me your thoughts on the situation......
TIA

Reducing back pressre in the exhaust can reduce torque at the low end of the rev range. However, C's with automatic transmissions are notorious for the lag in the electronic throttle.
