W203/CL203 Aftermarket Exhaust Thread - All you want to know

he has a 2006. for 2006, the engine lineup was changed completely and the 230's were given a v6.
There is tons of information on this forum all you have to do is use the Search feature, which I don't know why so many people avoid. We don't answer the same question over and over again when two days ago a thread already got like 50 replies on the same question.
And 2001 coupes were not in the US (just a side note).

Yeah, drex - there weren't. I don't know really why not, though, unless they were figuring out the perfect marketing plan to make sure they never sold.

Any suggestions? On the road sound clips?
Sometimes I wish there were meetings in the Orlando Area to exchange information of this sort but the guys here suck or are not enthusiastic enough!!! I think there has been multiple attempts for meetings without any luck!!!
Well, well!!! Maybe some day!!!
Thanks for your help!/Al

To answer your question, the quietest one of all the "aftermarket mufflers" would probably be the AMG muffler.
If you don't want more exhaust noise, don't even think about getting a cat-back and/or full exhaust system.
I'm looking for a little more power and would like a soft sporty sound to go with the theme. I'm not looking for aesthetics. At one time, I considered buying just a tip but the idea of having a little more power hit me when I saw how pricey on those chrome tips are. I rather spend the money on the exhaust itself and get more for the buck!!! Do you think the AMG will give me what I'm looking for?
Thanks/Al

Ooh, if you're gonna be looking for more power, you're not gonna get much from an exhaust setup (even from the cat-back systems offered). The only companies that have full cat-back applications (from the research I've done) are Supersprint, Eisenmann, Brabus and Remus (since Brabus muffler is made by them).
No matter what, the stock exhaust piping for the 230K SS has been debated back and forth to be somewhere in the 2.3-2.75 inch measurements (I haven't seen anybody confirm the actual measurements), which is quite big for stock piping. That's why, if any gains are made at all from a replacement Cat-back system, it's maybe 1-2 hp at the most (if any at all). There's not much back pressure on the stock exhaust as it stands (remember, the stock exhaust muffler is made by Sebring).
So out of the choices I gave you above, if you're going for performance, Eisenmann has had the best reputation, but since you don't want the noise, try to find someone that can get you the Remus cat-back system. Make sure it's the full cat-back and not just the muffler.
