Here's the thing, if you're worried about this happening. Don't change to an AMG muffler. Just get a stock 230K SS muffler (post a WTB: OEM 2004.5 + 230k SS muffler). It's funny because ever since I came on here 2 years ago, whenever people talk about exhausts it boggles my mind how many people are really just referring to the muffler. Whenever I think "exhaust," I think full exhaust (including piping) from the cat-back (bare minimum).
Even some of the major MB tuners refer to an "exhaust" upgrade as just a muffler replacement...LOL. Really weird, but I've gotten used to the lingo.

I don't think anybody has measured or takin' an accurate measurement of the dimensions between the 2 models. Either way, the AMG muffler is designed for a supercharged v6 engine (yes), however, if that were to cause enough back pressure to damage the supercharged i4 engine, I can't even imagine what all the REMUS, EISENMANN, SUPERSPRINT, ETC... mufflers will do because a lot of those were designed specifically for the 240/320 engines, not the 230. I know there are people who have purchased mufflers that were previously on a 240/320 (v6 engine) and it worked fine with the 230K SS.

I actually like SS muffler better than AMG muffler, but I do not have a valence on my rear bumper and I think my rear bumper will look ugly if I install SS muffler without making my own valence. That is why I wanted to buy AMG muffler not SS muffler.
Regarding the piping,I think my car has around 2.25' - 2.5' pipe down there if I am not mistaken. I had magnaflow on my car before and I believe the inlet/outlet of the muffler is 2.25'.
Drex,do you know anyone here in the forum has an AMG muffler on their C230?
Thanks again.

once again there are no specific designed exhaust for different engine spec for the W203 other than the 55 since it has a dual muffler setup.

You can check it out yourself by visiting the Supersprint web page. Sorry, I do not have any sound bites but do have photos........just have to dig them out.
AS I said: It's a full Cat-back, stainless steel, mandrel bend system including resonator and muffler.

One thing for sure,my bumper is nothing like yours. My bumper does not have a valence at all.Maybe,I should take some rear pics of my car, so that I can explain it better to you

I'm basically saying that the sport muffler with the polished oval tip will work.
EDIT - After looking at some of the luxury models, the rear valance is slightly different from the sport rear valance. Looks like if you get the sport muffler you'll have to cut the rear valance if you want to swap.

Dont want to burst your bubble, but almost everyone that has eisenmann here has the race version, i dont recall any sport versions.
but i do recall, theres this one version thats discontinued. it was between sport and race.
the race cost maybe less than 200$ more than the sport, might as well.

In your car:
Race: Muffler + Sound Pipe
Sport: Muffler + Resonator
The sound pipe is not expensive and the resonator comes standar un the sport version.
I would sugest to get the sport and the soundpipe (+60$), then install the muffler and resonator and drive 1500km, if then you want more sound swap the resonator for the sound pipe.
Best Regards.
