Nope, don't get it. The muffler is too tight against the tips. Doesn't look right proportionally. Keep your existing exhaust unless you're going for dual.

ok i have just got a magnaflow muffler welded on my 06 c230 ss and now im noticing some drone on highway cruising speeds... i got the XL series and wondering if anyone else has the same issue... and any way of fixing them....?

i think the drone is present around 2k to 3k rpm and around 55 to 70 mph

newer SS models don't have a resonator, so you can install one to tone down the exhaust

ok i guess i can take it back next week on a weekend and try it... but i think when the car was up and lifted... i thought i saw a resonator and a cat...

and is there a room to even put one in on a stock pipe?

mine's an '06 and it has a factory installed resonator- just in front of the muffler. did the older w203's have 2?

or upgrade your resonator . ask the exhaust shop and see what they have

You can always instal dynamat in the trunk. I did that for my stero install and it helped with the exhaust as well.

All W203s have 2 cats...older ones have a resonator after the 2 cats.

When i did the custom dual with magnaflow, i found it that it was too loud so I took out the resonator that rlee shows above, and replaced it with the longer resonator. It tones down the noise more. So far, there is a bit of noise, but not that loud either.

my '06 has the two cats just after the manifolds, the right around the rear passenger footwell there is a resonator that looks something like you have pictured, then just after that is the muffler.

hmmm i took out my res like 3 weeks ago and love it but i recently purchased a magnaflow street series muffler and i havent had the time to install it i guess if it drones and i dont like it i'll throw the resonator back in


any dif between the regular resonator and the amg resonator???

no. looks like this will only fit the coupe. sedan exhaust is a different shape.
