stock 16 inch wheel offset?
I thought that 37mm was the offset for the 17x7.5's. So, does that mean that my 16x7's actually have more clearance than the stock 17s? And, would that imply that I NEED more clearance than the later cars?
Be inventive. You're in college. Use a flexible mirror.
P.S.
Or you can use a strong flashlight and binoculars to read across while laying on the ground.

I ran 17 x 8 with 225 tires without an issue.
Okay, I go to a school where most kids drive nicer cars than I do so that's definitely a lie. I'm just too lazy to figure out where I'd get such a thing... alright, that's a lie to... I think I'm going to do exactly that. Oh! Or look at the spare!!! DUH?But yeah I'm not worried about the width, just the offset. If my stock are 16x7.5 ET37 and I get some 17x7.5 ET40, some simple mathematics tells me that I will have 9mm less inner clearance. I don't know if that means it will be bumping into the brakes or not.
