F' it! I love my w203, especially once I've finished my next mod and it'll be the 1st (and hopefully only) one of its kind in North America (to my knowledge). I'll take unique and less expensive Benz over generic more expensive Benz any day of the week!

02 C230 Coupe
haha the runt...
I don't know guys......but for my .0000001 cents (is that still a cent???) worth...I would like for people to not be so rude sometimes...like maybe a semi noob does post a legit question, but there are countless threads on it. We should just tell him/her what to search for, instead of the "STFF" run-a-round....just doing that would be so much more helpfull i'm sure; reguardless of how "crappy" the search feature may be.
I think the original reason why I stayed here is because I saw one of Buellwinkle's posts and I was like "wow...this cat knows his stuff" after that I starting seeing some of the nice coupe rides and I was hooked. I haven't even really looked at any other forums. And not only just Buellwinkle, but after joining I found TONS of people that have uber knowledge about the W203's

Is @ Home
wow, people bashing each other because of their "car caliber"?
This is like bazarro world compared to the Saab forums i hang around.. where everyone is pretty much automatically friends because they all drive Saabs
I'm looking at the c230 coupe because of its practicality. Hatchback, high power 4 cyl, solid feel and comfortable ride.... I didn't even factor the fact that "I'd be driving a high caliber car" into the equation...
But i guess its the Saab-esque practicality of the car that attracted me to it
I seriously thought the brand snobbyness associated with Merc owners was all jealousy from poor people, but I'm quickly learning that people do really buy Mercs just so they can appear to have a certain social status.... And here I'm referring to the several chaps that said "Sure I could have gotten a better car, but i wanted a Mercedes" ....
And for the people that buy the cars to have a status mark... Cars say nothing about your "Status"... People in the trailer park aways from me drive nicer cars than i do, even though my annual household income is probably 5 times higher than theirs.. I'm going off on a tangent now....
and I'm fully aware of Saab owners bashing 9-7x and 9-2x owners.. because those really are just re badge jobs, but my point is, saying a c230 isn't a Merc because it doesn't cost enough is just plain ridicules, and its probably the most stuck up ignorant thing I've ever heard

The majority of MB drivers who drive something besides a C-Class don't harbor any feelings one way or the other about C-Class drivers.
Let's face it, people in forums get a little too serious at times.![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
(By the way, the majority of people who could easily afford to drive a far more expensive vehicle choose not to do so. On the other hand, too many people are driving cars they really can't afford. The reality is that what one drives often bears little reflection to financial standing).
If you earned enough to spend 40k on your C-Class, then enjoy it. In the end, no one really cares what you're driving or how much you spent to drive it but you.

2006 Mercedes C55 AMG
I'm new to the board and new to MB. I was/am a die hard Volvo fan however I went another route when I was in an accident because I couldn't replace my 2006 S60R.
When I first came to this board everyone was quite rude, snobby and full of themselves. They'd rather take the time to reply to a post with a crappy quip rather than to answer my question. I honestly hope that the boards get better because with all of the Off Topic and idle chit chat it clogs the boards with 100 posts to get to the right answer just in 1 thread.
I bought my car because I loved the engine. Plain and simple. If I bought a Mercedes for social status I wouldn't drive a "C" class.
