Mercedes is gone physically, but still in my heart.
Update: Wheels/Tires/Suspension

I had a lot of inquiries on how the car would hold up on the new wheels/tires with the H&R springs (with no updated shocks or anything else), also how it finally would settle.

Firstly, the car was aligned once the wheels/tires/springs were put on and with that, I've driven 5,000 miles and had nothing but regular tire wear. No camber issues as some people were wondering about with the springs. The shocks were just checked at the dealer and are absolutely fine, no abnormal wear they said.

Now, as for the settling. Anyone getting H&R springs should just be sure to get #1 spring pads for the front pads because with the #4 springs (stock), the back sits lower than the front. Anyway, end result I'm completely happy and all worked out well. Here are some pictures I already posted, but just so you can see how it sits for yourself:

The guy at the shop said the car had the #4 springs on the front, so maybe the previous owner installed them for a softer ride. I'm not sure, but anyway, point is, the H&R springs are a little too high for my liking.

Finally! Someone who had originally inquired about it! Yeah, it's absolutely fine, have had 3 friends in the back (one of which being around 220ish), and no rubbing whatsoever. Just get it aligned and there should be no camber issues, the tires I'd say still have 80% tread life on them after 5,000 miles.

The drop, is supposed to be 1.4" front, 1.3" rear as claimed by H&R. I can't say specifically the drop, but in the rear, with the 18" wheels, I can't fit a finger for the gap. In the front it's about 1 1/2 - 2 finger gap, but it's not TERRIBLE, just noticeable if you're specific about your drop. Anyway, overall, for a few hundred bucks, I'd say it's completely worth it.

Oh I forgot to mention one last thing, ride quality, is the exactly the same as stock. It's unbelievably comfortable, not too stiff, takes bumps just as stock. It's great.

I'm on 18x8.5 and I believe I'm running 225s all the way around. I'll go out to the car later to confirm this.

I noticed somewhere from one of your post that your car was pretty high on the rears and it is still rubbing?! offset problems?Perhaps,it's the tires too boxy?

Well the car looks nice tho in your sign!

I am running Tein Basics and to be honest,I HATE the ride quality of my car.Prefer stock ride with 17s. BTW, I also got 19s on the car . I think I am going to stick with them for a while until I get really2 sick with my setup LOL.

However, I also hate it when you get only springs and you cannot adjust the height of your car. It looks unbalance fronts and rears. Hey, at least, you still have the feeling of stock ride Benzz ridee!

Honestly, I'm sure a lot of people will flame me for this, but I see no point in getting coilover suspension for your LUXURY car. I come from a muscle car background and coilover suspension is used only for high powered cars that need the added support and stiffened ride. I can't understand why someone who is driving a luxury car for comfort and ride quality would get suspension that completely stiffens the ride.

Anyway, yeah it's not the best that I can't adjust ride height, but it looks nice and classy and that's the way I wanted it to be

I do have CO, but I don't slam my car. It's one finger gap all around in my car! And I miss my stock ride

Enjoy your car!

my rear is not too high. when i first put on the coilovers, i had 3/4 of the tire tucked. it looked great, but it rubbed. now, i have a about 1/2 finger gap. no rubbing unless there are 2 people in the back seat. i guess its just the wrong offset.

I have h&r springs; #4 pads on the rears and no pads in front. Drop looks pretty even, has that wedge look. Rides like stock. I still have the original amg wheels though.
