I ended up stopping by at carlab today after work was just to anxious, wanted to find out if the HID kit i had would fit my car. They told me it would not, that after about 5-10 minutes itll start flickering and just go out then he showed me a part below the bulb and told me that the HID i had was to big there compared to the HID kit he had. So i called my friend and he told me no it should work fine but the lights going out could be something to do with the computer on the car and haveing to change from halogen setting to hid setting for the lights. Anyone heard of this before? Im probably just gonna get the HID kit he had there cause it was same price to get my lights installed and pay my friend and just buying the lights from them and haveing it installed.

your description is too general, yet it does introduce red flags. almost as if the pro is highlighting the differences in bulb base...that the one from your friend has the wrong base type vs the one they have at the shop. but w/o photo of the two, or you identifying the bases, it's hard to be precise.

the bulb size, however, prob has no bearing on the computer (or flicker). the car needs to have version type/setting to be configured so that it recognizes that HID is present instead of halogen. this is the prime cause for flicker.
