S-mode

How often do folks use it ? I'm in the Maryland area and have to get on 495 everyday so whenever I know traffic is going to be light, which is rarely, I use it. Can there be any damage done by using it 24/7 ?

confirmed. C starts in 2nd. Giving a smoother more gentle ride [from the start].

With "S" enabled the car will start off in 1st gear and shift at a higher RPM. With "C/W" enabled the car will start in 2nd gear and shift at a lower RPM. I dont think the fuel economy is affected much...

I always leave mine on S mode. I drive a lot of local since I'm only 8 miles away from my house to work. I found that S mode give me a better accelaration than C. Since the 7 speed doesn't downshift fast enough on the C mode. I have better gas on S mode.

guy over on E class drove same commute roads - one tank W and the other S.
the start-in-2nd mode yielded an additional 100 miles per tank. anecdotal but
probable.

Yeah I live in Maryland as well, and driving on 495 during traffic is harsh so I drive in comfort.
