2002 Mercedes Benz C230 Coupe
Didnt want to start a new thread for this.
Im painting my coupe grill (except the top and bottom chrome strips) black to match my coupes color.
Does anyone know how to remove the star from the grill to make it easier to paint? Pics would be helpful too.

The grille start can be removed by turning counterclockwise about 10-15 deg, at which point it can be easily removed. There are 6 plastic hooks around the circumference.

Ill give it a shot, although I did try before and it didnt seem to move. Maybe I wasnt using enough force.

aaaaaaaaahhhhh why can't I find an online store selling the 05 silver coupe grille?. Am I blind?? Googled everything I can think of. What the heck! Dealership is my only choice or what? Sorry for reviving this thread but I've been searching forever...I could only find some pics and old broken links. Halp!

Oh and yes I was reading about how you need to modify the grille in order for it to fit. Doesn't seem too difficult.

Yep, that is the stock '05 grill. Just did it myself, just a few cuts and it fits fine.

No, it is bright silver paint. Same thing that is in C230 Sport Coupe's signature. I took some pictures when I put it in, so if I can find them when I get back home I will post. Pretty obvious once you have them side by side.
