Custom-made Illuminated Door Sills
This is a prototype. It's developed by my partner. I replaced the original metal "Mercedes-Benz" silver strip with another strip in order to give it a "built-in" look. Its slightly different than the factory door sills where the factory one has a chrome strip glued on top of the original sill. I can custom made whatever wordings that you want....your name, your nickname, etc. I am posting here to see if anyone is interested. I am not making it if nobody wants it. Currently, only C class and C-coupe are under development. Thanks for watching.

i think if the price is relatively low and the install is easy you will sell alot.

I havent really set a price for it yet. There are a couple of problems that we are facing now....the demand and the modification. As you've seen on the pic, we took out the factory silver plate and replaced with our own plate. We have to cut underneath the black sill in order to take out the silver plate. If we send you a "modified" door sill, i.e. the black sill with the custom plate already installed, it will be pretty expensive.
There are 3 things that I have to order: 1) the light itself, they are not light bulbs, rather a very thin "pad" that will illuminate when connected 2) the replacement plate, very cheap, but there are labor involved 3) the factory black sill (have to get it from the parts dept, and they're VERY expensive). In order for me to make a profit out of it, I have to sell it at least $450-500. But who will buy it from me for $500 whereas you can get the factory ones for $529???
The only alternative is to ask you guys to take out your molding (the black sill) and send it to me. I'll do the modifications here and send it back to you. Then the price will be reasonable. Installation from your part is easy, all you have to do is to hook up the wiring to the door switch on each side.
Therefore, I have to gather some feedback in here first in order to decide whether I'll continue to develop it. The good thing about my product is it is custom made, you can put your own words and the "built-in" look.

Harris is looking for a Generic label that will please most... totally customized ie, "Bobby's Benz" etc, would probably be too expensive as one-offs. So, be reasonable, folks.
