Talking just ordered my car

well, i had been dealing back and forth with my local dealer and a dealer in chicago for the past week. at first the dealer in chicago laid down such a great deal that i thought my little local dealer would never be able to match it. well, turns out that he came within $150, so that was good enough for me and it'll save me a trip to chicago and any concerns i had about free loaners and other stuff. i gotta keep the little guys in business ya know.

thanks to all of you who gave me advice and helped me with the decision. now i just have to sit back in agony and wait 3 months for my car.

for anyone who wants to know here's what was included in the price that was laid down for me and i accepted:

6-speed, capri blue, oyster leather, C1, C4, C5, C7, brown poplar wood trim, cd-changer, destination fee, taxes, title, registration, license plates

all of the above included in the price of: $32,930

I also got the illuminated door sills and mud guards, but that will be extra since they're accessories.

that deal was good enough for me, maybe not the absolute bargain bottom but it's pretty dang good i thought.

Maybe you should reconsider the "mud guards"???? IMO, they look ugly on a C-coupe. Mud guards are for Camrys! And I think you should ask the dealer to give you a "staff price" on the door sills!!! Plus keychains, all-weather mats, coffee mugs ALL for FREE! :p

yeah i agree the mud guards don't really help the coupe too much. But I would get all weather mats ASAP. If not from dealer go to auto store and get some.

TL - congrats! The three months will be over before you know it. I like the Capri a lot; I'm sure that it'll look great. You will have to post pics, of course, when you get it, especially to show off the wood trim, which even three months from now, most of us will still not have seen.

Not to harp on this point, but did you talk to them when you ordered it about the sills being included on the 4-yr warranty? I'd think that they should be.

I like the mudguards - good choice; your car will thank you this winter.

Well, since you've now got three months to think about it, start mulling over what you'll do for winter rims/tires, which you'll probably have to throw on soon after you get the car, unfortunately.

Congratulations -- hope you can stand the wait. I've got a Capri Blue/Java C240 and it looks great. The Oyster should look great too. My car only took 2 mos. last summer -- maybe you'll be surprised. The dealer was able to swap an order already in the system which saved about 1 week.

well, the mud guards aren't a fashion statement but i live in central illinois. i don't have guards on my car now and i have chips and tar on my paint right behind my tires. my dad's 300M has mud guards (not mud flaps mind you, there is a difference, mud guards are much more "fashionable") and they really don't look bad at all.

Considering that car lists at over $33,000 not including the cost of installing the sills and all taxes, etc, I think you got a very good deal.

Since you live in IL and have leather seats, I suggest that you might consider adding the heated seats. They are great.

i actually thought of adding the heated seats. my fiance really wanted them. but my dad has them in his car and i just dont' really care that much. i'm the kind of person who likes cold weather over hot weather anyway. it's just something i didn't want to pay for. i'm a little nutz, i'll pay 400 bucks for stupid illuminated door sills but not for heated seats. oh well

I use the heated seats a lot on cold days with the panorama roof open. Cool head, toasty bottom.

That leather can get pretty cold in the wintertime - if I lived somewhere that actually had winter I would have definitely ordered the heated seats.

Remember, every time your wife has to sit on a cold seat, she'll be sure and remind you of the fact.

Cheers, BT
