As for the new MB 3.5L, I am assuming it is a larger displacement version of their current 3.2L.

Only the Top Concorde (previously the LHS version) and non-Special 300m get tuned to 250hp.
The 300m Special is tuned at 255hp. The Special however, is no faster than the normal 300m due to the added weight. The Special is much more fun to drive, shift points are at 3500 ilo 2500 and has a very nice growl in the exhaust.
This is a great 3.5 alum engine, however I seriously doubt one will ever find it't way into an MB.

No longer car shopping...
Two engine options?
I've seen the crossfire listed as having either 215 or 275HP. The later was listed as a domestic v-6 with an eaton super charger. The former is simply the SLK 320 engine. In either case, both good options. Pricing was listed as $38K for the supercharged version and $30K for the "entry" level 320. Nowhere near the price of the MB's at either configuration (The $38K is almost $17K lower than the slk32 and the $30K is $15K lower than the slk320). IMHO these cars can give the slk's a strong run for their money if the guys at chrysler don't get greedy. Only drawback right now is that any potential ragtop/removeable hardtop would be delayed until late in the year. I was planning on a new merc but am holding off in favor of the crossfire as I am on three dealer list to place my deposit in Feb once we get the balance of the details,
