look up on dension's site. look up the icelink gateway 500. you'll find the mercedes on the list. i actually called and spoke with someone and told them i had a Bose D2B FiberOptic system and asked if it would work, the guy said yeah. good luck man.

you either have the Bose system or possibly upgraded to the HK [not sure what year they started puttin that in]. best way to check is look at some of your speaker grilles. should show the 'bose' logo on it, mainly the ones in the package tray.

Well, I know that I don't have the Bose system. But mine's is a 2004. Under the compatibility, it lists:

Car Type Car Model ↑↓ Year from ↑↓ Year to ↑↓ Head Unit ↑↓ Model ↑↓

Mercedes C 2004 Comand with MOST Fiber optic connection
Mercedes C Class 1999 2004 all with D2B Fiber optic connection
Mercedes C Class 2004 Audio20/Audio50 with MOST Fiber optic connection

Well, I know I don't have the Comand head unit, but how do I know which one I have? The D2B Fiber optic connection or the MOST Fiber optic connection? I believe my car is the 2004.5 with the regular factory head unit with the cassette player..

Oh btw, and nm about info on the AVIC-D3, I searched the forum. Thanks. =)

in my car previously and in my buddies 01, if you open the glove box to the right theres a spot for a headphone jack you can buy a double sided head phone jack and use a remote to control for your ipod to change the tracks, at Staples they sell a remote that works upto 30' away from your pod, and since your also going through the aux line you don't get any feed back,
