Brake pads

I've been searching for my answer but I can't find it.
I have a 2003 c230k how many sensors do I need to get at the dealership so I can change the pads myself? Is there one for each caliper?
Thanks

Only one sensor, in passenger's side inner pad.

(Although, if your sensor didn't activate - and you don't damage it during pad removal, you can reuse the existing sensor)

Where can I get OEM AMG Brake Pads? And what components do they include, maybe I can try searching the web for each components. And if anyone has done it - or at least knows the pricing, just let me know, thanks.

I have a C320, just in case that makes a difference.

Can't just get the AMG pads without changing your calipers. The pads won't fit on the OEM 320 calipers. If you want AMG pads, you have to do a swap to AMG Calipers and rotors.

But, just for reference, OEM pads are usually made by PAGID and/or one other company (can't remember the name off the top of my head).

Hope this doesn't qualify as hijacking the thread, but my "brake lining wear, visit workshop" message just came on as well, and I find that I can't "dismiss" it, like I can with a "low fuel", or "light out" message. I figured i would wait till I put my winter wheels on to do the brakes, but the message is driving me crazy, blocking my speedo, odo, clock, etc. Is it supposed to do that?

eddie, it will stay on until you get the pads and sensor changed.

yeah, but unlike "low fuel", you can't just page by it and get on with your life. It keeps coming back (unless your foot is on the brake), which is a b*tch when your trying to see your miles travelled or the clock or something.

Mine is currently on and I just wait 2 minutes and scroll to the next menu. Everytime you start your car it will show and sometimes it will go off if you break hard... go figure.

From my experience through E320, S500, and currently C230. You have approximately 1000-2000 miles left on your brakes, depending how you drive.

Sensor only cost 3 dollars. All you need is one.

However, once i forgot to purchase the sensor and just reused the old one. Worked fine.

I scroll to the next menu, but the brake alert comes back--no matter how long I wait.

1000-2000 miles is plenty; snows will go on in December.

Had the sensor "activated", that is, produced the "brake wear" alert, before you reused it? I was under the impression that once it alerts, it's toast.

For a $3 sensor, I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry. If it worked for Johnny one time, doesn't necessarily mean that it will consistently be that way for all the other sensors.

Just wanna make sure. Is there a difference in the pre 2004.5 sport model brake pads and the luxury model pads?
