Went to MB of Houston Greenway & here's lease deal

I am looking at a new 02 C230k coupe w/ C5, C7, auto and MB of Houston Greenway is asking $465 a month for 39 months 15k miles w/ $3500 down for lease. If I am not really plan to keep the car for more than about 2+ years my friend say I should extend the lease term to 48 or even 60 months to make the monthly payment smaller. I've decided on $3500 down (or even $4000?) no matter what. BUT i do want the monthly payment to be smaller (more like $400?). Please let me know what you guys think. I really want an 02 for the 2.3L engine over the 1.8L. Thank you all for your input.

Red face

Please, I could beat a deal like that pre-ordering a new nissan 350Z with twenty other people bidding! That is lousy for a sub30K car! Let me see, you are buying an 2002! That right there should get you $4-5000.00 off the deal, plus putting absurd amount down payment for a lease, you should have a $250.00-$200.00 tops payment, if you get ripped off. Please do not get suckered by these dealers that enjoy people like you buying cars. Is the percentage rate 11%!

Thats what i didnt get. The MB site quote was much more reasonable for 03 w/ same pkg $380 a month! They say I have good credit (if I dont i wouldnt even consider an MB). They are also telling me that I have to pay for $1000 transportation cost of the vehicle. Only prob is that there are only 3 Benz dealers in town and 2 of the are the same dealers. The other is not even really a Benz dealer but just an Import dealer that can get Benz

check Garlyn Shelton in Temple Texas ... they have the best prices of any dealer I contacted in Texas ... They have a website and will give you a quote via email. I delt with Ken Charlton who was just great, See what he can save you ! It was well worth the 200 mile drive rom Houston to pick up the car !!!!

trust me you won't be sorry

Thats fine but what kinda deal did you get? Honestly, I didn't like the way they are so vague on everything. I have bought so many cars for myself and family and usually do alot of research but lack of Benz dealers here makes it very difficult.

Why don't you try MB of Houston North. I believe they can give you a better deal than that.

2002 C230 Coupe
With the prices that your talking about you should be able to BUY the car, not lease it.

I got mine at MB Greenway. MB North screwed tried to screw me over.

My salesman at Greenway was Mendel Chang. I can't say one bad thing about him. He was everything I expect from a MB sales rep. You may want to give him a try.

I too originally got a better deal in Temple. They were out of the C230 when I bought mine.

Good Luck. I'm sure you will love it.

P.S. If you get stuck with a 2003, I will trade you for my 2002. I like the new 1.8. Better gas mileage.

search "Garlyn Shelton Imports Temple Texas" or "Mercedes Benz Temple Texas" and you will get their site. E-mail them for a price quote on what you want. Mendel at Southwest tried to cut a deal but his boss was too tight. I guess they have to pay for that fancy new facility. Garlyn Shelton was 900.00 less than the best price I was quoted elsewhere, and this was on a special ordered car. In addition, I was kept informed of completion of build, when it was shipped, when it arrived and was unloaded off of the truck in Temple. I could not have asked for better people to do business with. Anyone in Texas thinking of buying or leasing should give them a try. I will buy my next one from them as the whole purchase and delivery process was professional, honest and most pleasant.

Ordered 2/7/02 - delivered 5/6/02
C230K black, C5, Automatic and CD changer was
$ 29,765.00 Plus TT&L

No one in Houston could or would match their price.

I think they have more flexability on pricing due to the fact that they are a multi-brand dealership. In addition, they sell Volvo, BMW and GM products.
