Anyone tried using a CAN-BUS adapter on 05 and up C-Class?

I'm looking at getting a Dietz 61010 from ebay.de or a Crimestopper CAN SL CAN-BUS adapter to get a speed signal from my 2005 C230 SS with MOST. Has anyone had any experience with these adapters? I think it would be more reliable than getting a signal from plug 27, pin 3...any comments?

It's an adapter that's meant to extract and interpret certain signals from the CAN-BUS interface. It's similiar to the Pioneer steering remote adapter that people have been talking about in previous threads. Since my HU wouldn't work with the steering wheel remote adapter, the Dietz or Crimestopper model would be good enough. I'm sure the Dietz would work, but not sure if the Crimestopper one (designed for installing aftermarket car alarms and enabling window up/down, power doorlock functions with it) would work. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience using it.

If not, then I guess I'll be a guinea pig and try it out and let everyone who's interested in installing an aftermarket navigation system know. That's what a forum is for, and I'll be happy to contribute if it hasn't already been contributed.

CAN and MOST are 2 different buses. GL getting them to talk to each other without some sort of translator. Thats what the smilies represent considering you already know about the different protocols in the MYs.

Hmm..I thought MOST was the fiber optic protocol that is being used for the audio/entertainment equipments (as opposed to DB2 in older models), but they still use CAN-BUS to communicate with the rest of the car? I could be wrong, not too sure...
