Audio 10 install - programming question
I am putting my audio10 in shortly and ran across this while looking for aux input options:
Theft protection is handled by a unit identifier signal over the CANBUS with the vehicle (the devices have no code). This identifier is checked at each operation of the unit. If this identifier is missing, then the radio goes into the PROD lockout mode and can no longer be operated. I want to make sure before I lock it out. Peet |
From what I have been told by Buellwinkle, thier is no problem in putting that radio in your C230K. This thread may help;

TO cut a long story short, I put an Audio 10 in my car, and no programming was necessary. The steering wheel controls also worked, as well as speed sensitive volume. It even controls the CD changer. Of course, a working Audio 10 is a prerequisite... |

no jinxing the radios please........................ |
So do any of you have any idea how this 'security' feature works? Is it like our keys where they interrogate each other, then lock to each other? I wonder?!

My Audio 10 CD did not work all of the time at start up until my dealer did some programming. It works fine now.
