Buying a Mercedes Audio 10 CD

Buying a Mercedes Audio 10 CD
I hope that I can help others that want to buy a Mercedes Radio Becker Audio 10 CD. I had quite a lot of help in buying an Audio 10 CD from Buellwinkle and others.
These are the steps I took to buy one:
This is the E-bay page for the Audio 10 CD's that are for sale.
There are two different Audio 10 CD's radio and I have attached a photo to help with the differences. The radio you want for your Mercedes is the one on the top and not on the bottem. On E-bay the place where you want to start is here;
http://search.ebay.de/search/search....combine=y&st=2
Next is the translation of the web pages;
on this cite is a "translation of a web page" Google is the best to use.
http://translation.langenberg.com/
The next step I did was write to the seller and ask if he or she would allow me to bid and would they send the item to the United States. When I wrote to them I would use the German translation as well as The English Translation so no confusion would be invoiced.
The best source of transferring funds I found is City Bank at;
https://www.c2it.com/C2IT/Login
This Information is Required before the money can be sent, so e-mail the buyer and have this information on hand:
Recipient Name:*
Recipient Street Address:*
City and State or Province:*
Postal Code:
Country: Germany
Recipient Telephone Number:* .
Recipient Bank Information
BLZ Code:*
Recipient Bank Account Number:*
Recipient Bank Name:*
Bank Address Line 1:*
Bank Address Line 2:*
Bank Address Line 3:
* are required to finish transaction
Remember it cost about 30.00 dollars to send it by regular mail and about 60.00 dollars to send it by air. It is best to ask the radio be double boxed and packaged to prevent it from being damaged in shipment.

I am currently bidding on an Audio 10 based on the bits and pieces I learned from Beullwinkle and others, but since I couldn't read the German text I was wondering just what he was trying to tell me. While the translation is 'fractured', you can still get the idea.

when viewing an item on ebay.de, it's helpful to change "ebay.de" to "ebay.com" in the URL. this will make the text of the auction details appear in english; the description will still unfortunately be in german but it's a LOT easier to understand.
example:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=1764667548
(becomes)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1764667548
example:
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=1764667548
(becomes)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1764667548

I did pick up on that from some posts along the way, but it occured to me that the seller could be making some kind of disclaimer, like "...big scratch on faceplate, but unit still works (I think)." and I would never know it. Better to have a translator that can make a stab at converting the whole thing.

I use http://babelfish.altavista.com/ for translations. You cut and paste the website address and it converts the entire page. Unfortunately, Germans seem to have trouble with their spelling so it doesn't always translate perfectly. Many Germans speak English so you can send them an e-mail asking if they "Sprechen Sie Englisch?". If they respond with "nein" you are outa luck, don't bid on it, it's not worth the trouble.

US stations are every 0.2 MHz (odds) on FM and every 5 kHz on AM.

Sessions,
The reason why I kept with the German translated text is that it is in the German time zone. However I noticed when when I had E-bay translate the text the time changes. I feel this is important so when the item for sale gets near the end of an auction you can make a decision to stop bidding or bid more.

very. i had never taken a car apart before and i did it in an hour. (without the assistance of pictures like the ones i posted) that hour also includes the time to run to sears and buy a #20 torx screwdriver.
