Audio 10 install - programming question
I am putting my audio10 in shortly and ran across this while looking for aux input options:
What does this mean? Does anything have to be done after doing the wiring part of the install? Is this a DAS thing?
I want to make sure before I lock it out.

Theft protection is handled by a unit identifier signal over the CANBUS with the vehicle (the devices have no code). This identifier is checked at each operation of the unit. If this identifier is missing, then the radio goes into the PROD lockout mode and can no longer be operated.
I want to make sure before I lock it out.

From what I have been told by Buellwinkle, thier is no problem in putting that radio in your C230K. This thread may help;
this is the installation of one and some good comments

TO cut a long story short, I put an Audio 10 in my car, and no programming was necessary. The steering wheel controls also worked, as well as speed sensitive volume. It even controls the CD changer.
Of course, a working Audio 10 is a prerequisite...

So do any of you have any idea how this 'security' feature works? Is it like our keys where they interrogate each other, then lock to each other? I wonder?!
