Parking/City Lights Color Match with BIX

I'm looking for any recommendations of a product that will allow me to change my parking lights (w5w) to match with my BIX's. I don't really like the different colors at night with the parking lights and BIX, I think it detracts.

Any particular brand/color that you've tried that matches well and where to get them are appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Lorinser

I looked at the PIAA website and found this according to your recommendation.

Twin Pack 19172
Bulb Type 168 Wedge
Wattage 5w
Technology Xtreme White

Is that the correct application???

Yes I am going to get fogs, but not xtreme white, I'm going to change them to yellow fogs

matching bi-xenon silver bulbs parking light

I know this topic has been discussed count less times before, but I STFF and I didn't really find any pictures or people having the silver wedge bulbs, only signals. I've saw some pictures with LEDs. I just don't want to mess with load equalizers. So, does anyone have silver colored parking lights (wedge bulb)? I know they're silver, but how do they illuminate? Do they still illuminate a yellowish beam, or are they white like xenons.

on my car the housing for the city light is yellowish. when you put in a bulb even though its not a clear bulb, will bounce off of the yellow housing and look yellowish, thats my theory, even though i havent tried it i think if you color the yellow housing with a black sharpie it will stop the light from reflecting off of the yellow housing. i have not treid it because i'm too lazy to do it, but if one of you guys try it let me know if it works

I think you're talking about the signal amber housing. I was talking about the parking/city lights (wedge bulbs).

i'm talking about the wedge bulb also. on my car the socket for the wedge bulb is yellow brown. i have a 2001 c240, you may have a newer car and it may be different, but if it is the same as mine, try my theory out.

I have LED's in my city lights. Check out For my mercedes.com. Just use a second set of sockers with the old bulbs as load equalizers. I did.

Are equalizers absolutely necessary? I've been told by Jerry that if you're only using LEDs for your parking lights, it's not necessary. I've also been told that you would need equalizers more if they were signals, not parking/city lights? Can anyone confirm?

Do you guys actually read the posts, or just ask the same questions?

Yes, you need load equalizers for the city lights. The MB computer senses the change in draw and will shut the circuit off. However, the load equalizers don't need to be expensive genuine load equalizers. Like I said above, just use a second set of sockets- scotch lock them onto the leads, and use the old bulbs. Curl it up and leave it behind the black covers- make sure the old bulbs are not touching the back sides of the reflectors. Ive had mine in for two years now. Works fine. If you want LED turn signals like I have, you'll need to use real load equalizers though.

TO dwawg-
Yes, real load equalizers run hot, place them were they won't do any harm.

Parking Light Bulbs

I have been searching previous forums & the sites mentioned for purchasing the stealth bulbs for the side markers. I can find the blinkers but can't find the side marker bulbs. I will be getting my clear lenses this week & wanted to find some bulbs for them. I would also consider amber ones if I can find them. If you have this set up if you could please tell me where you found the chrome coated ones or amber ones. I'm going to try some local auto parts stores & they may have the amber ones.
I don't know what to call these bulbs (part #)?
5W/4 CP bulb or E1 12V 5W?
A lot of time just to find 2 little bulbs

Found Em! Only took 2 hrs searching the net. Damn bulbs are almost as expensive as the lenses. They are definately making $ on the bulbs.

Question Side-Marker Bulb Resistance

anyone know the RESISTANCE (Ohms) for the side-marker bulb fixtures ???

Since my 12V / 5W bulbs are now gone, I need to install "in-line resistors" to cancel out the 2 malfunction messages.

$20 is not bad to pay for stealth bulbs for the side markers. what is expensive is the clear covers at $50 with shipping.

to find the bulbs go to: http://www.ambulbs.com/products/description.php/II=75

I hope this helps.

I bought a pair of APC branded wedge bulbs that are chrome but light up xenon white. Very nice addition to xenons.

Its at cardomain.com
